Assign metadata to a document
• Before saving an epsilonwriter file on the web, or when you upload a file to the web, you can add
metadata. Metadata are properties which are used to search among resources.
• To assign metadata to the current document , choose « Edit|Edit metadata ».

• Then epsilonwriter displays a table of the metadata.
• The part to fill is the « value » column. The name of the property (Title, Author, etc.) is on the left ;
explanations are given on the right.
You can exit from the
metadata edition with
the « CLOSE » menu.

• There are no mandatory properties, these which are indicated as mandatory are just strongly
recommended.
• The « Title, Author, Description » metadata are put in the index.
• The « Title, Author, Licence, Origin, Information, Keywords » metadata can be inserted in the document
by opening the document and choosing “Edit | Insert title, author, etc.” see below .

• On peut aussi attribuer des métadonnées à un fichier que l’on dépose sur le Web en le prenant sur
l’ordinateur local, pour obtenir le tableau des métadonnées, il suffit de dire « oui » quand epsilonwriter le
propose.
