His main clinical scientific interests are chronic kidney diseases and their nutritional and metabolic consequences, haemodialysis, epidemiology, and rare renal diseases including thrombotic microangiopathies. He has been Country Investigator for France in the Dialysis Outcomes and Practice Patterns Study since 1998, and is one of the founding investigators of the French CKD-­‐REIN cohort of patients with chronic kidney disease and of the Chronic Kidney Disease Outcomes and Practice Patterns Study -­‐ CKDopps. He is Theme Editor at Nephrology Dialysis Transplantation. He is President of the Société Francophone de Néphrologie Transplantation Dialyse.
