How to get the most out of your experience at the Make going to the Library part of your routine - set a time to go every week or two. You’ll all have something to look forward to, and you’ll never be late with your books! Always take out the same number of items - that way you’ll always know how many to bring back. Have a special Library bag and make sure it’s comfortable to carry. Bring paper and a pencil! You may hear about a great book but forget about it by the next visit. You may also want to keep a list of authors you’ve already enjoyed. Keep this list in your Library bag. Set aside a special place in your room - It could be a corner, an empty shelf, or an old milk crate where you can keep all of your Library books and supplies. Keeping it all together makes it easy to find later. Ask Us! We’re here to help! Ask a librarian - about how to find books, and tell them what books you like too. They know the collection and can help you find other things you’ll like. Ask for a tour! It may look complicated, but libraries are set up in a way that’s easy to understand once somebody explains it. Ask about our catalogue - you can find any book using our computers in the Library, or at home on the Internet. You can also use it to reserve a book that is out. Ask about reading programs - many libraries have games and prizes for children who join their clubs, most often during the summer months. Ask when your books are due! Make sure to get a printout of when you have to bring back your books! You can call or go online if you want to renew them to keep them longer.
