GENERAL INFORMATION
1. The course will commence on Monday September 8 and end on Saturday 20.
Arrival of participants is to be on September 7 and departure on September 20. The
course will take place at the International Institute of Higher Studies in Criminal
Sciences - ISISC (Siracusa, Via S. Agati, 12). The course will consist of 20 working
sessions from Monday to Saturday, Wednesday afternoon and Sunday will be free.
Each day will be divided into two sessions of three hours each for a total of 50
actual academic contact hours.
2. Attendance is required. Failure to attend ‘two’ sessions will disqualify the
participant from receiving a certificate of completion of the course.
Active
participation in classroom discussion is expected, as well as participation in the
moot court.
3. The working languages will be English and French without simultaneous
interpretation (though it is expected that most of the lectures and discussions will be
in English). The moot court shall be in English only.
4. Participants will have to hold a first degree in law having graduated in the last eight
years (between 1995-2003) and not be older than 35.
5. The application form is available on the International Institute of Higher Studies in
Criminal Sciences website or International Association of Penal Law website and
from the Institute by mail, FAX or e- mail, ISISC (Via S. Agati, 12 - 96100 Siracusa

[email protected] ). Applications will have to be received at International
Institute of Higher Studies in Criminal Sciences by 30 June 2003.
6. The number of participants will be limited to 50 and priority shall be given to the
graduate students and researchers of the co-sponsoring universities. Regional
geographic and gender balance will be sought.
7. Participation in the course shall be at no cost to those selected but each participants
will be required to pay 450 Euros to cover part of the lodging and meals costs at the
Park Hotel in Siracusa in double rooms from Sunday 7 to Saturday 20. Participants
who wish to arrange their own accommodations and meals may do so and in this
case they will only have to pay 50 Euros. The Institute will provide, at no cost,
academic materials and transportation on arrival and departure, from and to the
Catania airport.
8. Participants have to be members of the International Association of Penal Law
Young Penalists Section (Membership Application enclosed).
9. The Institute will provide 10 fellowships with waiver of the 450 Euros for
candidates from Developing Countries.
10. The moot court competition will be only in English and the case shall be the trial
before the ICTY of Slobodan Milosevic based on the Prosecutor’s 3 indictments.
There will be 8 teams of 4 persons on each team (32) and 18 participants will act as
judges (3 per panel). Sele ction of teams will be made on Wednesday, September 10
(12:00-13:00).

INFORMATIONS GENERALES
1. Le Cours commencera le lundi 8 Septembre et s’achèvera le samedi 20
Septembre. L’arrivée des participants est prévue pour le dimanche 7 Septembre
et le départ dans l’après- midi du 20 Septembre. Il se tiendra au siège de
l’Institut Supérieur International des Sciences Criminelles – ISISC (Siracusa, via
S. Agati, 12). Le Cours sera subdivisé en 20 sessions de travail, du lundi au
samedi. Le mercredi après- midi sera libre, ainsi que le dimanche. Chaque
journée sera divisée en deux sessions d’environ 3 heures chacune, soit un total
de 50 heures académiques.
2. La présence est obligatoire. L’absence à deux sessions empêchera la délivrance
au participant de l’attestation de participation au cours. Il est prévu en outre la
participation active aux discussions pendant les cours et à des procès simulés.
3. Les langues officielles seront le français et l’anglais sans traduction simultanée.
La plus grande partie des rapports et des discussions seront en anglais. La
simulation des procès se déroulera en anglais.
4. Les participants devront être diplômés en droit au cours des huit dernières
années (entre 1995 et 2003) et ils ne doivent pas être âgés de plus de 35 ans.
5. Les formulaires d’inscription sont disponibles sur le site de l’ISISC ou de
l’AIDP. Ils pourront également être demandés au Sécretariat de l’ISISC (Via
Agati, 12, 96100 Siracusa – Fax: +39.0931.442605 – Tel: +39-0931.414515 /
414516 – Email: [email protected]) et adressés au Secrétariat de l’ISISC au
plus tard le 30 juin 2003.
6. Le nombre de participants sera limité à 50. Il sera donné priorité aux étudiants
en provena nce des universités organisatrices. En contrepartie, les organisateurs
s’efforceront d’opérer un équilibre entre les régions géographiques.
7. La participation au cours sera gratuite. Il sera seulement demandé aux
participants de verser la somme de 450 Euros par personne pour couvrir une
partie des frais d’hébergement et les repas, au Park Hôtel de Syracuse, en
chambre double, du dimanche 7 Septembre au samedi 20 Septembre. Les
participants qui le désirent peuvent pourvoir personnellement au logement et aux
repas, et dans ce cas ils doivent seulement payer 50 Euros. L’Institut fournira le
matériel pédagogique et pourvoira au transfert, à l’arrivée et au départ, de et vers
l’aéroport de Catane.
8. Les participants doivent être membres de la Section des Jeunes Pénalistes de
l’Association Internationale de Droit Pénal (ci-joint le bulletin d’adhésion).
9. L’Institut mettra à disposition 10 bourses d’études couvrant 450 Euros pour les
candidats de pays en voie de développement.
10. La compétition relative aux procès simulés se déroulera seulement en anglais et
sera fondée sur trois actes d’accusation du Procureur du TPIY contre Slobodan
Milosevic. Cela représentera 8 groupes de 4 personnes chacun (32); 18
participants joueront le rôle de juges (3 par panel). La sélection des groupes sera
effectuée le mercredi 10 Septembre (12h00 – 13h00).

Sessioni di lavoro da lunedì a sabato, mercoledì pomeriggio e la domenica saranno
liberi. Ogni giornata sarà divisa in due Sessioni di lavoro di circa 3 ore ciascuna per
un totale di 50 ore accademiche.
2. La frequenza è richiesta. L’assenza a ‘due’ Sessioni impedirà il conseguimento da
parte dei partecipanti dell’attestato di completamento del corso. È prevista inoltre la
partecipazione attiva alla discussione in classe e alla simulazione di processi.
3. Le lingue ufficiali saranno il Francese, l’Inglese senza traduzione simultanea (si
prevede che la maggior parte delle lezioni e della discussione sarà in Inglese). La
simulazione dei processi si svolgerà in Inglese.
4. I partecipanti dovranno essere laureati in giurisprudenza negli ultimi otto anni (tra il
1995 e il 2003) e non devono superare i 35 anni di età.
5. I Moduli di adesione saranno anche disponibili sul sito dell’ISISC o dell’AIDP o

non oltre il 30 giugno 2003.
6. Il numero dei partecipanti sarà limitato a 50 e verrà data priorità alle domande di
studenti prove nienti dalle università co-organizzatrici; in alternativa gli
organizzatori cercheranno di avere un bilanciamento per aree geografiche.
7. La partecipazione al Corso sarà gratuita. Ai partecipanti sarà richiesto solo di
versare 450 Euro a persona per la parziale copertura dei costi di vitto e alloggio,
presso il Park Hotel di Siracusa in stanza doppia, da domenica 7 settembre a
domenica 20 settembre. I partecipanti al Corso che vorranno provvedere
personalmente al vitto e all’alloggio dovranno versare solo una quota di iscrizione di
50 Euro. L’Istituto fornirà il materiale didattico e provvederà al trasferimento
all’arrivo e alla partenza, da e per l’Aeroporto di Catania.
8. I partecipanti dovranno essere membri dell’Associazione Internazionale di Diritto
Penale- Sezione Giovani Penalisti (in allegato il bollettino di adesione).
9. L’Istituto fornirà 10 borse di studio a copertura della quota di 450 Euro per i
candidati provenienti da Paesi in via di sviluppo.
10. La competizione su processi simulati sarà soltanto in Inglese e si baserà sui tre atti
di accusa del Procuratore dell’ICTY contro Slobodan Milosevic. Ci saranno 8
gruppi di 4 persone ciascuno (32) e 18 partecipanti svolgeranno il ruolo di giudici (3
per Sessione). La selezione dei gruppi sarà effettuata il Mercoledì 10 settembre
(dalle 12:00 alle 13:00).
