TIGNISH MINOR HOCKEY There will be an URGENT meeting on Monday, January 25th at 6:30 p.m. at the Credit Union Arena, Tignish,to discuss the issue of body checking in the “A” levels of hockey and whether or not it should be removed. PYJAMA PARTY Families are invited to a Pyjama Party (for little ones to grade 4) on Wednesday, January 27th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Centre acadien de Prince-Ouest in DeBlois. Come sing, dance and read stories as a family. Bring along your favorite stuffed animal! There will be snacks and prizes. Big Brothers, Big Sisters of P.E.I. is recruiting teams for our major fundraiser, “Bowl for Kids Sake”, to be held on March 6th and 7th at eight locations across the Island including Tignish and Alberton. Be an everyday superhero and form a team with 4 or 5 of your co-workers, friends or family. KIDSWEST - JANUARY INFORMATION Playgroup: If you are a parent or caregiver of a child between the ages of 0 and 6 years, you may be interested in joining us for a playgroup. We meet every week for two hours and we have crafts, songs, stories, games and many more activities. Please call for more details. Playgroup Themes: January 26th - 29th - We Love to Read; January 27th is National Literacy Day - talking, singing and spending time telling stories together are great family literacy activities. New Program: Comfort, Play and Teach: This new group is a positive approach to parenting that supports healthy child development. This is a program for parents and their children ages 0 to 3 years. The program is aimed to generate responses that transform children’s everyday interactions into a playful, educational environment. This groups meets every Wednesday at 10:00 to 12:00 at the Alberton Center. January 27th - Language and Literacy. Baby Connections: This is a group that offers an opportunity to build knowledge and friendship, for both expecting mothers and new mothers of babies up to 12 months of age.
