Le club de Keerbergen est une sorte d’îlot de verdure au
milieu du triangle formé par les villes de Bruxelles, de Louvain et de Malines. Voilà vraiment une toute bonne adresse,
soulignée encore davantage par la beauté de l’implantation
sur les rives du lac de Keerbergen. Si vous aimez les terrains bien verts, les tees et les fairways proprement tondus
et les greens qui nécessitent un putting sérieux autant que
réfléchi, alors, vous apprécierez certainement cet endroit !
Le trio d’architectes Cotton-Pennink-Lawree a signé ici (en
1968) un dessin empreint d’équilibre et d’imagination. Attention cependant ! Vous pourriez avoir certaines difficultés à
éviter les obstacles habilement distillés sur la route menant
aux greens. Et, un peu comme à Pebble Beach, le trou n°18,
avec le lac (et non le Pacifique comme en Californie !), sur la
gauche, tout au long du fairway, peut se révéler un quitte ou
double pour votre carte de scores, surtout si le vent souffle
dans la mauvaise direction ! Ces dernières années, de gros
travaux de rénovation ont été entrepris à Keerbergen, la
plupart des trous près des lacs ayant été reliftés en profondeur. Des bunkers ont été retirés, d’autres ajoutés, certains
greens sont aujourd’hui en plateaux, bref, des travaux qui
ont rendu ce parcours plus sélectif encore ! Sachez encore
que le practice est éclairé le soir afin de permettre les cours
en nocturne et que le clubhouse récemment rénové, équipé
d’une magnifique terrasse de 250 m2 donnant sur le lac, se
révèle moderne et fonctionnel. Depuis 2012, le restaurant
est géré par Dick Detré et son équipe.

De golfclub van Keerbergen is een groene
oase in het hart van de driehoek Brussel/Leuven/Mechelen. Een topadres dat zich extra onderscheidt door de prachtige ligging aan de oevers van het meer van Keerbergen. Als u houdt
van een groene baan, kort gemaaide fairways
en greens waarbij u moet nadenken, zult u deze
golf beslist appreciëren! Deze evenwichtige en
fantasierijke baan werd in 1968 uitgetekend
door het trio Cotton-Pennink-Hawtree en vraagt
ten allen tijde om een oordeelkundige aanpak.
Zoals op de slothole want net als op Pebble
Beach wacht er een enorme waterhindernis aan
de linkerkant. Weliswaar het meer van Keerbergen en niet de Stille Oceaan, maar toch! Eén
zuchtje wind en daar gaat uw goede ronde! In
de voorbije jaren werden belangrijke renovaties
uitgevoerd. Zo kregen de helft van de holes een
grondige facelift. Bunkers werden verwijderd,
andere toegevoegd, sommige greens liggen nu
helemaal anders. Het parcours is nu nog selectiever dan ooit! De practice is ’s avonds verlicht
en hierdoor zijn avondlessen mogelijk. Het gerenoveerde clubhouse aan de rand van het meer is
modern en functioneel en dat geldt ook voor het
prachtig terras (250 m2). Sinds 2012 wordt het
restaurant gerund door Dick Detré en zijn team.
Keerbergen Golf Club is a kind of green island in
the middle of a triangle formed by Brussels, Leuven and
Mechelen. It is definitely a very fine address, enhanced by
a magnificent setting on the banks of Keerbergen Lake. If
you love lush green courses, neatly mown tees and fairways and greens calling for good putting skills, you will
definitely like it here. Technically, architects Cotton, Pennink and Lauwree have come up with a very imaginative
well-balanced layout (created in 1968). Watch out though
because you might have a tough time avoiding the cleverly
placed obstacles on your way to the greens, mainly bunkers but also some impressive water hazards. And, a bit
like Pebble Beach, the 18th , with the lake (not the Pacific)
running the whole length of the fairway on the left hand
side, is a spectacular make-or-break finishing hole. This
huge natural water hazard will easily swallow up anything
off-target, especially when the wind blows in the wrong
direction! The club undertook some impressive renovation
work over the past few years as far as fairways, bunkers
and greens are concerned. No less than 9 holes have been
reshaped, bunkers removed, other bunkers added, some
greens have been elevated making the course more difficult and selective than ever. The driving range is floodlit to
provide practice possibilities in the evening.and the newly
renovated clubhouse with its splendid 250m2 terrace facing the lake is modern and functional. Since 2012, the restaurant is being managed by Dick Detré and his team.
