So, it’s a sunny day in July, I’m here now on the Isle.. the Ile de
Batz or the Ile de Batz?

Ile de Batz …and I’m speaking to Jean-Yves who’s in charge of
cycle hire. How is business today?
Jean-Yves
Is not so bad
Jon
Most of the people who come here for bikes- are they English,
French, Dutch?
Jean-Yves
French, many Dutch is here yes. English err, always, and err, et
beaucoup d’Allemands (a lot of Germans). There is business
because there is sun.
Jon
Exactly. It’s a good day isn’t it? What is there to see on this island?
Why is it a good place to come and cycle?
Jean-Yves
You can go to exotic garden. The church, the phare (lighthouse),
the phare en francais je ne sais comme en dit on Anglais- et
tout le cote sauvage, les plages et phares, et il y a plein de
choses a faire tranquillement. (the phare in French, I don't
know how to say it in English, and all the countryside, the beaches
and ???, there are plenty of quiet things to do)

Is there any traffic, any cars on this island?
Jean-Yves
Oui. Il y a un taxi et il y a des voitures. (yes there is a taxi and
some cars.)

Originally where are you from?
Jean-Yves
Ile de Batz. Je suis née ici. Je travail ici depuis milleneuf
cent soixante dix-sept. (Ile de Batz. I was born here and I've
worked here since 1977.)

Is it a nice place to live all the year ‘round? I mean today it looks
like paradise because the sun’s shining the sea is sparkling.

Oui, Oui. Quand, il y a du soleil, c’est presqu'un paradis.
(Yes,yes. When there is some sun it's almost paradise.
