A membrane stretches to fill in a plane, the failure of such leaves an entanglement to be picked through. Slowly solidifying objects in transit run through surveillance systems, attempts at camouf laging itself through amplified confusion. Care and cushioning folding into exhaustion, where the next set of hands take the burden briefly. Mag netic points are prov i sional, commas and colons, avoiding a full stop. « I keep speeding up time: Skipping days ahead of self? Anticipation // Or slippery boredom -something about gravity and the world whirling on its axisIt seems like forever since I’ve seen you, but I know IRL it equates to just over two weeks. Tcb art Inc. founded in 1996, is a non-commercial, non-profit space in Melbourne’s CBD renowned for its commitment to local arts community as well as supporting contemporary art from Australia and the Asia-Pacific Region. TCB presents lo-fi, high-energy projects with ambitious aims, offering support and assistance to young and emerging artists at a very “grass roots” level and facilitating ongoing dialogue between them and the broader art and non-art communities. TCB art Inc. has begun forming international exchanges in 2012 with XYZ collective, Tokyo Japan and Enjoy Public Art Gallery, Wellington, New Zealand. The aim for these international exchanges is to showcase alternative approaches to artistic practice internationally and develop working relationships between artists and art run initiatives. Cabal is the first of two exchange exhibitions between artist-run galleries TCB art Inc. in Melbourne and Aperto in Montpellier For this exhibition eleven Melbourne based artists — who together make up the board of artist-run space TCB —will concentrate their artistic and administrative skills toward the production and transportation of artworks from Melbourne to Montpellier. As well as showcasing diverse methods and material approaches within the Melbourne art scene, the exhibition aims to reveal something about the procedural logic of this group, who while exploring separate interests, collectively consider pragmatic and often poetic solutions to the production and transportation of artworks to the Aperto gallery.
