spéciale, puisque nous célébrons notre 25ième
anniversaire d’élevage, d’implication, et de dévouement pour la race Simmental.

de poursuivre par temps plus difficiles. Notre stratégie a toujours été simple.
Nous voulions sécuriser notre base en produisant des vaches fonctionnelles
et génétiquement puissantes. Malgré que nous ayons toujours eu une certaine
réussite dans les arènes d’exposition, nous nous considérons chanceux de ne
pas être tombés dans la poursuite de quelques rubans supplémentaires en
utilisant la saveur du mois dans nos croisements. Aujourd’hui plus que jamais,
la mise sur pied de génétique fiable qui transmettra dans une grande proportion les caractères recherchés et fonctionnels est importante. C’est avec cette
base que nous attaquons aujourd’hui le développement de sujets acères qui
eux aussi pourront transmettre aux générations futures les traits fonctionnels
de la Simmental d’aujourd’hui. C’est cette philosophie que vous retrouverez
tout au long de cette vente, puisque toutes les femelles ont été saillies aux
deux taureaux fleckvieh acère les plus complets que nous avons trouvés. En
résumé, étudiez le lot 1 et vous comprendrez!

We really feel that more than ever, all the animals
presented are backed by strong maternal and
predictable genetic backgrounds. That is what time
will bring to a program, as long as we put a sincere
effort to understand cattle breeding and genetic
transmission patterns.
To be among the leaders of this industry has always
been a goal of ours, and in a certain way held us
in there in tougher times. Our strategy has always
been simple. We wanted to secure a strong cow base that would allow us to go
in any direction when the market needed to change. Although we had relatively
good luck in the showring, we feel lucky today not to have followed the trends
to chase a few extra ribbons. Today more than ever before, that strong and
predictable cow base is put to the test in the polled cattle venture. This sale
represents just that, as all of the bred heifers carry a service from the two most
complete polled bulls we found when we first decided to seriously produce
high quality polled cattle. In summary, look at lot 1 and you have it all!
Thank you again to our loyal guest consignors, as well as the Quebec Simmental Association for their third participation. Without you, this event would
not be as spectacular as it is today. Good luck all.

To really focus and key in on one of the strongest points to the success of Ferme
Gagnon is the customer service. Let’s face it – the product we all sell are living
mammals and problems do happen sooner or later for everyone. Now a lot of
you may be wondering why I am discussing a topic that breeds from negativity
instead of the traditional “sugar-coated” commentary. It is reality, and I think it
is the only way to turn this into a positive personal critique of the Gagnons and
the high level of professional conduct they continually operate from because of
their own high standards they proudly work from. “Classy” and “sophisticated”
without exuming “arrogance”, is a hard combination to find that only people with
the proper intelligence can achieve.
Allons droit au but et parlons des vraies choses. Un des points les plus forts qui
a contribué de grande façon au succès de la Ferme Gagnon, est définitivement
le service après vente. Soyons réaliste, nous vendons tous un produit vivant,
et tôt ou tard les problèmes se pointent le nez pour tout le monde. Maintenant,
plusieurs se demandent surement pourquoi je discute d’un sujet négatif alors
que je devrais y aller du traditionnel discours « rose bonbon ». C’est la réalité, et
je pense que c’est un bel hommage que de tourner le tout de façon positive en
faisant ressortir cet aspect tant important et qui fait la différence dans le succès
des Gagnon. Le haut niveau de professionnalisme et les standards élevés dans
la façon dont ils opèrent est le reflet de leur éthique et façon de gérer. « Classe
» et « sophistication » sans user « d’arrogance », est une combinaison que l’ont
retrouve seulement chez les personnes avec une certaine intelligence.

A smaller framed, red factor, What A Dream daughter bred to our polled fleckvieh herdbull
MERIT. The What A Dream crossed well on our Bodybuilder x Fleckvieh F1s. They are

Attention aux utilisateurs d’EPDs:
Please note that although we have made EPDs available, the values
are somewhat inaccurate. A high percentage of non-Simmental british blooded animal’s performance is entered in the database, which
impacts the breed average. We strongly believe in this selection tool,
but keep in mind that the fleckvieh strain is under-evaluated for calving
ease, and over-evaluated for milk values. We are confident that our
breed administrators will solve this issue in the near future.
SVP veillez noter que, malgré que nous ayons décidé d’imprimer les
EPDs, les valeurs de ces derniers sont quelque peu faussées. En effet, un haut pourcentage des données de performances qui servent à
calculer les EPDs proviennent de races anglaises non-simmental. Ce
qui a pour effet de fausser la moyenne de la race. Soyez conscient
que cette situation a pour effet de sous-évaluer les EPDs de facilité de
vêlage, et de sur évaluer les valeurs pour le lait de la souche Fleckvieh.
Nous croyons fortement en cet outil de sélection, et espérons que la
fiabilité en sera augmentée dans un futur rapproché.
