Student Expectations:
Student will demonstrate ability to comprehend written and oral French, at the appropriate fourth
level. Student will demonstrate ability to speak and write at the appropriate level.
Description of Course Assessments:
Written quizzes and tests on individual and combined topics of study. (Approximately 10-12 per
quarter)
Oral quizzes utilizing department direct response rubric.
Authentic assessment in the form of role-playing and performance of oral French.
Writing Samples : one per quarter or one additional writing assignment.
Oral presentation on a geographical or cultural topic utilizing school-wide rubric.
Grading:
Lynn English High School grading Policy.
The above requirements represent the minimum amount of information that must be included for
the district. The district encourages all three high schools to expand upon this format to meet
NEASC recommendations.
