The African American Male
Spirituality
Retreat, a
ministry of Acts

(formally known
as the Detroit
Lutheran
Coalition) is the
NKONSONKONSON result of a
"chain link"
symbol of unity and brainstorming
session to design
human relations
A reminder to
an event that
contribute to the
would celebrate
community, that in
unity lies strength the life and
ministry of Rev.
Robert S. Gant. Rev. Gant, a Detroit
native, served as the pastor of St.
James Lutheran Church and Windsor
Park Lutheran Church in Chicago
before pastoring various Lutheran
congregations in Detroit. He was
serving as the first pastor of Revelation
Lutheran Church, Detroit, when he
passed in 2002. His death left a huge
gap in the rising brotherhood of
African American Lutherans. He was a
strong advocate for strengthening and
uplifting a community of men afflicted
by social injustices in this country.

Make a difference!
The ministries of NAMASTE Men of the
SE MI Synod in the ELCA are vital and do
make a difference. Our ministries are not
supported by your regular Sunday morning
offering. Your gift, along with others, will
make a significant impact in the SE MI
Synod to help mentor African American
boys (ages 8-18), to provide scholarships
sending them to the annual SIMBA Camp
in August, also making a difference with
our African American Males at home,
family, work and our congregations as we
seek to be about God's mission. You may
send your gifts to the address below:
