We thought we may have been biased with the first 2 lambs crops he produced, but our thoughts were confirmed with the below results. The Supreme Champion Ram at the 2015 PSBO Show was also the top selling sheep of the sale! RReflection’s third lamb crop is looking very similar to the first 2, so we are excited to see what the results will be with our consignments, at the All Canadian Sheep Classic, July 7th9th in Richmond, Quebec and at the PSBO Sale, July 23rd in Listowel, Ontario. Looking forward to seeing you there! 2015 Royal Recap! Congratulations to Randy Spencer who purchased 3 Hunterdown ewe lambs in July 2015. They were highest and second highest placing Leicester ewe lambs and members of the highest placing Leicester Get of Sire, (sired by Deakin 1809). Leicester lambs, QR or higher will be available for off farm purchase…give us a call today! Page 54 Canadian Sheep Breeders’ Association La Société Canadienne des Éleveurs de Moutons All Canada Classic Show and Sale Tail Length Requirements Let’s end the discussion on tail length! We need this… NOT this! Over the next three years, the CSBA will gradually implement tail length requirements for the Classic show and sale to create consistency between provinces. 2016: No sheep will be culled for tail length, but producers with sheep that have a “divot”, or indentation, will receive a warning and education on proper tail length. 2017: Sheep with a “divot”, or indentation, will be culled from the show and sale. 2018 and onward: Sheep must have a caudal fold that can be seen or felt, or they will be culled from the show and sale. Lois Lovett Laberge was one of the Townships pioneer lady farmers. Working side by side with husband Robert, they started with the hog business and later switched to Angus cattle and Hampshire sheep, along with a few chickens, Arabian horses and an enormous garden. She was an active member of the Canadian Sheep Breeders Association, the Angus Association, the Quebec purebred sheep breeders association and the Arabian Horse Association. Lois was also a very active member and pastpresident of the Eastern Township Sheep Breeders Association. This dynamic lady was always trying to learn more by reading, attending conferences or just by talking to people. Few people enjoy such a vast knowledge of our agricultural industry and are so willing to share that information with others. For this reason, the ETSBA is proud to offer the Lois Laberge Scholarship Fund in memory of such a fine agricultural producer.
