Abano Terme è un famoso centro termale a pochi chilometri dall'antica e prestigiosa città di Padova, che ha da sempre un ruolo turistico di grande rilievo. Abano è rinomata
per le sue acque salso-bromoiodiche ipertermali che sgorgano dal Poggio di Montirone con una temperatura superiore agli 80°.
Per i Romani, che già riconobbero le qualità benefiche delle acque, Abano era Aponum o Aquae Patavinea.
Abano is a famous spa centre just a few kilometres from the important, ancient city of Padua, and has always been an important tourist centre: it is famous for the saltybromine-iodic, hyper-termalwaters that spring forth from the Montirone Hillock at a temperature above 80°.
The mud that is produced using this water also has thermal properties. Abano was knows as Aponum or Aquae Patavinae in the time of the Romans, who were already
aware of the beneficial properties of the spa waters.
Abano ist ein kleiner, nur wenige Kilometer von der antiken und eindrucksvollen Stadt Padua entfernt liegender Ort, der seit jeher von großen touristischer Bedeutung und
für seine heißen salz-, brom- und jodhaltingen Heilwasser, die mit einer Temperatur von über 80°C aus dem Erdreich des "Poggio di Montirone" her vor quellen, berühmt
ist. Aus diesen Thermalquellen wird ein Heilschlamm, der sogenannte Fango, der ebenfalls thermale Eigenschaften besitzt, gewonnen. Die wohltuenden Eigenschaften
dieses Thermalwasser waren schon fiir die alten Römer ein Begriff.
Célèbre centre thermal situé à quelques kilomètres de l' antique cité prestigieuse de Padoue, son rôle touristique est toujours d'une grande importance: il s'agit d'Abano,
renommée pour ses eaux salso-bromoiodiques hyperthermales qui jaillissent de Poggio di Montirone à une température supérieure à 80°.
C'est à partir de ces eaux que les boues sont produites, elles aussi dotées de propriétés thermales. Pour les Romains, qui reconnurent jadis les qualités bénéfiques des eaux,
