Today, the Church honors the Blessed Virgin Mary, who was chosen by God the Father to be the mother of his Son. As Jesus was both fully human and divine, the Church confesses that Mary is truly “Mother of God” (CCC 495). So may we join together this day in adoring Mary, who is the Mother of God and our spiritual mother.
