Entrepreneurs financing other entrepreneurs Pléiade Investissement is a holding-company owned by friends run in the same way as a holding-company owned by a family. All shareholders of Pléiade Investissement have personally supported or developed a business they created or inherited. Through Pléiade Investissement, whose assets under management amount to €90 M, they reinvest part of their equity and share their experience with other entrepreneurs. Pléiade Investissement invests along side entrepreneurs who want to develop their business, purchase a company they are managing, diversify their assets, or sell a company they will continue to manage. Investment Criteria Neither institutional investors nor investment fund managers, we share the same time frame with the management of the compagnies we invest in Pléiade Investissement preferably invests in companies that enjoy a strong competitive advantage (thanks to the quality of a product or service, good relationships with customers, etc.) as well as high growth potential (expanding market, sector undergoing consolidation, etc.). Typically, we invest in a company led by a highly capable management team with revenues of at least €10 million and that has reached or is about to reach profitability. Our approach Investments: €2 million to €10 million (above, Pléiade Investissement invests alongside its shareholders or other partners) Types of transactions: OBO, LBO, build-up, buy-out/buy-in, capital development Investment Portfolio An active but low-profile role that allows management to remain autonomous Portfolio companies Aden Services (Hong Kong) is a group providing services in facilities management (catering, security, industrial cleaning and maintenance) and remote site management, mainly in China. In March 2011, Pléiade Investissement co-invested with one of its shareholders to finance the expansion of the group. Cafom, major French overseas retailer (But and Conforama stores) and leading online player specialised in furniture and home decoration (Vente-Unique.com), acquired the international group Habitat in September 2011. Pléiade Investissement financed the acquisition alongside the founding managers. Cojean is a high-end French fast-food concept which Pléiade Investissement has supported since its beginning. The first restaurant opened in 2001 in the area of La Madeleine in central Paris; it now counts around 30 restaurants in Paris area. Divalto is a publisher of an ERP software package designed for small and medium-sized companies. In June 2006 then June 2009, Pléiade Investissement financed the founder's 2 steps exit and simultaneous progressive buy-in of the company by the managers and the staff. Environnement SA (Alternext) is the leading company in air pollution measurement in Europe. The group exports worldwide with key markets in China and India. Pléiade Investissement invested in March 2011. Generix (Eurolist C) is a publisher of an ERP software package and a provider of high value-added collaborative management solutions for complex intra-company and inter-company flows. Since July 2002, Pléiade Investissement has supported the restructuring of the company, has backed 3 external growth add-ons, and then the shift to SaaS, with the aim of becoming a leader in Europe. Harvest (Alternext) is a software publisher with a presence in all segments of wealth management in France. Pléiade Investissement invested in March 2011. Materials Technologies comprises expert companies in engineering of concrete building materials, and automated handling systems. Pléiade Investissement has supported the turn-around of the company since Decembre 2010, after its filing for bankruptcy. Quiétalis is the French nation-wide leader in installation and maintenance of professional kitchen equipment for restaurants. Since June 2007, Pléiade Investissement has backed the managers in the build-up of the group and in the related structuring. Pléiade Asset Management is an independent asset managment firm which was established in August 2008 by 2 professional investors: one has background experience from securities markets and the other from private equity. The firm manages 2 mutual funds investing in French and European companies, on the basis of their fundamental strengths. Pléiade Venture, like Pléiade Investissement, brings together entrepreneurs. Pléiade Venture is a venture capital company investing in first rounds of financing for innovative companies in all sectors except life sciences. Exits Benchmark is one of the major French internet players. It holds leading positions in web publishing, market surveys and professional training. In October 2010, Pléiade Investissement sold its stake, acquired in June 2000, in connection with the 100% acquisition by CommentÇaMarche. Ceric Technologies has taken over in 2010 the assets of Ceric SA, a leader in the engineering of clay brick and tile plants. After a good restart, it was placed into receivership late 2015 following the sharp downturn in the economies of emerging countries, its main markets. Ciblex is a specialist in express logistics and related maintenance services. Pléiade Investissement backed the management in the spin-off of the company from a British group and supported its strategic and commercial redeployment. In April 2010, Pléiade Investissement and the management sold Ciblex to Géodis group. Hologram Industries is one of the world's leading manufacturers of security holograms and authentication. In November 2008, Pléiade Investissement sold its stake, acquired in November 2003, to Hughes Souparis - founder, CEO and majority shareholder. Léon de Bruxelles is a "Mussels & Chips" theme restaurants chain. In December 2001, Pléiade Investissement backed the turn-around of the company after its filing for bankruptcy. Pléiade Investissement sold its shares in April 2008 following a public take-over bid from OFI Private Equity.
