SYNOPSIS (English):
“Cunegunde in Karlalend” reveals the dilemma of a man from the Balkan. He runs to catch the train to
Europe, but he doesn’t believe that this is going to change anything in his life. His pessimism just like
his dream about Europe are instinctive. The characters of Venko Andonovski try hard to bring down
the barriers that keep them apart from Europe, but quickly they regret and try to get back, back into the
Balkan that signifies primitivism, hypocrisy, violence, conflicts and even savagery but nevertheless and
despite everything, warmth.
SYNOPSIS (français):
« Cunégonde en Karlalend » dévoile les dilemmes de l’homme balkanique, qui court afin d'attraper le
train pour l’Europe mais qui, dans le même temps, ne croit pas que cela changera quoi que ce soit
dans sa vie. Son pessimisme est instinctif tout comme son rêve d’Europe. Les personnages de Venko
Andonovski s’efforcent de faire tomber la barrière qui les sépare de l’Europe, mais rapidement ils le
regrettent et cherchent à revenir en arrière, dans les Balkans qui signifient le primitivisme, l’hypocrisie,
la violence, les conflits et même la sauvagerie, et pourtant et malgré tout, une chaleur.
