STALLERGENES GREER ANNOUNCES THE LAUNCH OF ACTAIR® IN JAPAN
ACTAIR® IS THE FIRST SUBLINGUAL IMMUNOTHERAPY TABLET LAUNCHED IN
THE WORLD FOR THE TREATMENT OF HOUSE DUST MITE ALLERGY

London (United Kingdom) - Stallergenes Greer plc (Euronext: STAGR) today announced the launch in
Japan of Actair® (STG320), the first immunotherapy tablet for the treatment of House Dust Mite (HDM)induced allergy in adolescents and adults, by Shionogi & Co., Ltd.. Actair® has been developed by
Stallergenes Greer who has granted an exclusive license to Shionogi & Co., Ltd. for Japan.

Since September 2010, Shionogi & Co., Ltd. has been the exclusive partner of Stallergenes Greer for the
clinical development, registration, marketing and sales of sublingual HDM immunotherapy tablets and
sublingual Japanese cedar pollen immunotherapy tablets in Japan. Stallergenes Greer will receive
payments on sales of Actair® in Japan.
In addition, Shionogi & Co., Ltd. has started a phase III trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Actair®
in allergic rhinitis in children (5 to 16 years of age).The trial is expected to enroll approximately 400
subjects.
ABOUT RESPIRATORY ALLERGIES IN JAPAN
Allergic rhinitis affects 25% of Japan’s population. HDM and Japanese cedar pollen are the two main
causes of respiratory allergies in this country. From early childhood, HDM can trigger allergic rhinitis,
which worsens over time with a natural progression towards asthma. The symptoms may be severe,
significantly impairing patients’ quality of life.
With 32 million respiratory allergy sufferers, there is a strong, and as yet unmet, demand for allergy
treatment in Japan where sublingual allergen immunotherapy tablets have not been available.

ABOUT ACTAIR® (STG320) HDM TABLET
With a unique galenic form and tailored to the sublingual route, Actair® (STG320) is a sublingual
immunotherapy tablet consisting of D.pte/D.far purified and calibrated HDM extracts corresponding to the
epidemiological characteristics of patient exposure. Actair® is indicated for the treatment of HDM allergic
rhinitis, confirmed by clinically relevant symptoms, a positive cutaneous test for HDM allergies and/or a
positive test for the specific IgE to HDM.
Actair® (STG320) has been the subject of a phase II / III clinical study in Japan (1501D1732). This
randomized, double-blind and placebo-controlled study has evaluated the efficacy and safety of a 12
month course of treatment with sublingual HDM immunotherapy tablets. On 3 February 2014, Shionogi
reported that the study met its primary efficacy endpoint, as each of the active treatment groups
demonstrated a statistically significant difference on the Average Adjusted Symptom Score after one year
of treatment versus the placebo group. Overall, the safety and tolerability profile were favorable.
Shionogi & Co., Ltd. has announced it has received the approval of Actair® (STG320) from the Japanese
health authorities (PMDA - Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency) on 30 March 2015.

au Japon d'Actair® (STG320), premier comprimé destiné au traitement de l'allergie induite par les
acariens chez l'adolescent et l'adulte, par Shionogi & Co., Ltd.. Actair® a été développé par Stallergenes
Greer qui a accordé une licence exclusive à Shionogi & Co., Ltd. pour le Japon.

Depuis septembre 2010, Shionogi & Co., Ltd. est partenaire exclusif de Stallergenes Greer au Japon pour
le développement clinique, l'enregistrement, le marketing et la commercialisation de comprimés
d'immunothérapie sublinguale aux acariens et au pollen de cèdre du Japon. Stallergenes Greer percevra
des redevances sur les ventes d'Actair® au Japon.
Par ailleurs, Shionogi & Co., Ltd. a débuté un essai clinique de phase III destiné à évaluer l'efficacité et la
tolérance d'Actair® dans la rhinite allergique chez l'enfant (de 5 à 16 ans). Environ 400 personnes
devraient y participer.
A PROPOS DES ALLERGIES RESPIRATOIRES AU JAPON
La rhinite allergique affecte 25% de la population japonaise. Les acariens et le pollen de cèdre du Japon
représentent les deux principales causes d'allergies respiratoires dans ce pays. Les acariens sont
responsables, dès la petite enfance, de rhinite allergique qui s’aggrave avec le temps et qui évolue
naturellement en asthme. Ces pathologies se traduisent par une symptomatologie importante altérant
considérablement la qualité de vie des patients.

Avec 32 millions de personnes souffrant d’allergies respiratoires, il existe au Japon, pays où les
comprimés d’immunothérapie allergénique sublinguale n’étaient jusqu’ici pas disponibles, une forte
demande, non satisfaite à ce jour, pour le traitement des allergies.
A PROPOS D'ACTAIR® (STG320), COMPRIMÉ AUX ACARIENS
Disposant d’une galénique unique et adaptée à la forme sublinguale, Actair® (STG320) est un comprimé
d’immunothérapie sublinguale composé d'extraits D.pte/D.far d'acariens, purifiés et calibrés,
correspondant aux caractéristiques épidémiologiques de l’exposition des patients. Actair® est indiqué
dans le traitement de la rhinite allergique induite par les acariens, confirmée par des symptômes cliniques
pertinents, par un test cutané positif pour les allergies aux acariens et/ou par la présence d’IgE
spécifiques aux acariens.
Actair® (STG320) a fait l'objet d'une étude clinique de phase II / III au Japon (1501D1732). Cette étude
randomisée, réalisée en double aveugle et contrôlée par placebo, a évalué l’efficacité et la tolérance du
comprimé d’immunothérapie sublinguale aux acariens sur une durée de 12 mois. Le 3 février 2014,
Shionogi & Co., Ltd. a annoncé que l’étude avait atteint son objectif sur le critère principal, les groupes
traités ayant démontré, pour un traitement d’une durée d’un an, une réduction statistiquement significative
du score de symptômes moyen ajusté par rapport au placebo. Globalement, le profil de tolérance et
d’innocuité s’est montré satisfaisant.
Shionogi & Co., Ltd. a annoncé le 30 mars 2015 avoir obtenu de la part des autorités de santé japonaises
(PMDA - Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency) l’approbation d'Actair® (STG320).
