Do not hesitate to contact the people listed at the end of this guide if you need extra support. I-Arrival in Brussels: A) Arrival at Brussels Airport The Brussels International Airport is located in Zaventem, 14 km from the center. Information: +32 (0) 2 753 42 21 / +32 (0) 2 723 31 11 Flight Schedule: +32 (0) 900 70 000 www.brusselsairport.be How to reach the centre of Brussels from the airport: From the airport to the city: All trains stop at North Station, Gare Centrale and Gare du Midi 4 trains per hour, first departure: 5:32am - last departure: 0:20am Tickets are on sale in the stations (it is also possible to buy a ticket in the train, but there is a considerable price supplement). Price: 4,30€ (1st class); 2,60 € (2nd class). From the city to the airport: Gare du Nord 4 trains per hour, first departure: 4:53am - last departure: 11:21 p.m Central Station 4 trains per hour, first departure: 4:48am - last departure: 11:16 p.m Gare du Midi 4 trains per hour, first departure: 4:44 - last departure: 11:12 p.m. Tickets are on sale in the stations (it is also possible to buy a ticket in the train, but there is a considerable price supplement). 4,30€ (1st class); 2,60 € (2nd class). B) Brussels South Airport (Charleroi) Brussels-South Charleroi airport is located approximately 50 km away from Brussel and operates, mainly low-cost airlines Ryanair, Wizz Air, FlyOnair, Jetairfly and Jet4you. http://www.charleroi-airport.com/ How to get to the centre of Brussels from Brussels South Airport Charleroi: By bus A bus links Charleroi Brussels-South and the Gare du Midi railway station in Brussels more than 20 times a day. The shuttle departure point is situated at the junction of rue de France and rue de l'Instruction (follow "Thalys" exit at the Gare du Midi station). Charleroi to Brussels: shuttle departs 30 minutes after the Ryanair airline flight arrives at the airport. One-way ticket fare: 13.00€ (tickets are sold inside the shuttle). Return ticket: 22.00€ Tickets can be purchased on www.voyages-lelan.be, or in the terminal of the airport on in the bus while departing from Brussels. 3 By train A bus route (route A) permanently links the Charleroi Brussels-South airport with Charleroi railway station. You can then take the train very easily to Brussels. From Brussels national airport (Zaventem) it is about 25 minutes by taxi (but allow 35-45 minutes in rush hours). Alternatively, you can take the frequent train service from the airport to Brussels Gare Centrale/Centraal Station, which takes about 20 minutes, and then take a taxi from there (about 10 minutes) or take the metro (direction Stockel or H. Debroux) and walk from Schuman. If arriving by train (including Eurostar and Thalys) at Brussels Gare du Midi/Zuid Station, you could take a taxi from there (allow at least 15 minutes) or take the metro (direction Simonis, change at Arts-Loi/KunstWet, direction Stockel or H. Debroux) and walk from Schuman. The network includes metro lines, which connect the eastern and western districts of the city. Pre-metro lines (trams in the tunnels) complete the metro service. Many metro lines also have above ground bus and tram connections.
