To reinvent Show Jumping! What an ambitious goal EEM CEO and Founder Christophe Ameeuw and his team at EEM have set for
themselves!
A passionate equestrian and owner of the well established sport horse training, trading and breeding facilities Ecuries d’Ecaussinnes in
Belgium, Christophe Ameeuw made his debut as show organizer in 2004.
Together with the Pessoa Family he took over and re-launched the Jumping de Bruxelles, an event dear to him as it was, as he says,
where his passion for horses was born as a child.
For over ten years, EEM has been dedicated to bringing equestrian sports to the international front stage. Inspired by the Grand Slam in
tennis and its legendary tournaments, EEM created the Longines Masters in Los Angeles, Paris and Hong Kong, the Grand Slam Indoor
of Show Jumping. The unique concept, recognized as the word’s most prestigious equestrian events, gathers under one roof the best of
sport, entertainment, glamour and elegance.
EEM is the creator, owner and organizer of the Longines Masters Series. The company’s team is spread between the headquarters
in Ecaussinnes and the subsidiaries in Los Angeles and Hong Kong. In addition to event organization and sports management, EEM
oversees the career development of distinguished international equestrian athletes and artists.

The Next Big Leap In The Sport Of Show
Jumping
Ask someone to name a sport that includes a Springsteen, Bloomberg and Gates
and chances are they will pick the something akin to the tame sport of golf. But
they’d be wrong. Daughters of Bruce, Michael and Bill all compete in the ever
popular and ever growing sport of show jumping – and the stakes are half a
million high.
Nearly 6 years after it started as a single show horse event in Paris born into the
middle of a recession, EEM has turned the sport of show jumping into
aninternational sensation.
Now sporting 3 international events on 3 different continents, Paris, Hong Kong
and Los Angeles and looking for a fourth, the company gave me a rare glimpse
into the growth of competitive show jumping.
“I was inspired by the tennis Grand Slam events to create an international series,
starting with the Gucci Paris Masters (now named Longines Masters of Paris) in
2009,” Christophe Ameeuw, Founder and CEO of EEM told me.
Ameeuw also worked with OlympiansLaura Kraut and Nelson Pessoa to help
announce Longines as the title partner of the Masters on social media. At last
year’s Longines Masters of Los Angeles, riders shared photos and news about
their participation on Facebook, Twitter TWTR +3.45% , and Instagram.
For instance, Kaley Cuoco posted about competing in the event multiple times on
Instagram and had approximately 100,000 “likes,” and fan favorite Reed
Kessler shared her location for the meet-and-greet and autograph signing on
Facebook.
EEM’s title sponsor and event namesakeLongines, has been involved in the
equestrian world since 1878 when it engraved a jockey and a horse on a pocket
watch. For them, partnerships with equestrian competitions represents a strong
match with the brand’s image and philosophy.

Held at the Los Angeles Convention Center, the event included several
different competitions stretched out over four days.
Jennifer Gates — daughter of Bill and Melinda — and Eve Jobs —
daughter of Steve and Laurene — are both 18 and relatively new to the
sport.
Gates notably paid $18 million for a 228-acre horse farm in Rancho
Santa Fe, California, a year ago. The Gates family also owns a second
equestrian estate in Wellington, Florida, which they purchased for $8.7
million after renting it for travel to Jennifer's horse-riding competitions.
The LA Convention Center is used to hosting big events but the LA Masters provides organizers
with a unique challenge. The show ring alone requires 1,500 tons of dirt.

and women compete together, and because their watch collections are split
between sexes equally as well, Capelli claims it’s a very good demographic fit for
