Cette exposition comprend de belles vieilles photos prises entre 1895 et 1960 qui proviennent d’albums de famille des diverses régions acadiennes de l’Île. L’ouverture officielle sera déclarée par Père Eloi Arsenault. Une réception suivra. L’exposition sera en montre jusqu’à la fin d’octobre. A TRIBUTE TO ISLAND ACADIAN MEN AND BOYS AT THE ACADIAN MUSEUM The Acadian Museum, in Miscouche, invites you to celebrate Father’s Day by attending the opening of the new exhibition “Island Acadian Men” on Sunday, June 16th, at 2:00 p.m. This exhibition features beautiful old photographs dating from 1895 to 1960 which come from family albums from the various Acadian regions of the Island. The exhibition will be officially opened by Father Eloi Arsenault. A reception will follow. The exhibition will be on display until the end of October. ROYAL STAR FOODS - TIGNISH FISHERIES The hours of operation for the Fishmart are Sunday, from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We have fresh lobsters, oysters, mussels, quahogs, fresh frozen bar clams, and fresh fish. TIGNISH TREASURE GIFT SHOP The Tignish Treasure Gift Shop is getting ready to open for another season. Irish Moss Youth Golf Tournament on Thursday, June 27th, beginning with chipping and putting contest at 12:15 p.m., followed by tournament. The GBS Junior Program begins on Wednesday, July 3rd. There will be two weekly sessions. On Wednesdays, the first group will start at 10:00 a.m. (note time change), followed by the second group at 11:00 a.m., etc. Then on Sundays, the first group will start at 1:00 p.m. followed by second group at 2:00 p.m., etc. The whole program will take place in July as the instructor is not available in August. TIGNISH HOME AND SCHOOL ASSOCIATION The Tignish Home and School Association is once again offering our Summer Reading Program during the months of July and August to all students registered in the area. This program is available to all students for a summer fee of $20. Students can work on any number of areas such as reading, math, French, etc. The student tutor will work with your child based on their needs. It is a great opportunity to keep up their skills during the summer months. Each week is a one hour one-on-one session. TIGNISH HEALTH CENTRE ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT We would like to invite you to put in a team for the Tignish Health Centre’s Annual Golf Tournament at the St. Felix Golf & Country Club. The Tignish Health Centre will be holding its annual Motorcycle Run on Sunday, July 14th. Please come out and support this great cause. 9th ANNUAL BENNIE BERNARD MEMORIAL 6 KM RUN/WALK The 9 Annual Bennie Bernard Memorial 6 km Run/Walk (3 km run for kids 10 and under) will be held on Sunday, June 23rd, at 1:30 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church in Palmer Road. Registration fee is $5 and proceeds from Run will go to the Church. Registration will be before the Run. No bikes or roller blades (strollers or wagons are permitted for kids). The Run will take place rain or shine. For more information, please call Randy Allain at 882-3467. th BENEFIT NIGHT – CLOHOSSEY A benefit night for Shawn Clohossey, son of Barry and Darlene Clohossey, will be held on Sunday, June 23rd, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Tignish Legion. There will be local talent, cake auction, fudge sale, 50/50, as well as an auction of items donated by businesses. Since June 1 st, Shawn is living in an apartment in Toronto and has to be ready to go to Toronto General Hospital at a moment’s notice when donor lungs become available and this could possibly take up to a year. Following surgery, the hospital recovery is another three or four months. Shawn received a double lung transplant in 2005 but his lungs started to fail again and in February 2013, he was told he needed a second double lung transplant. Please come out and show your support!
