ROOT CODE 0
A new tool for removing the injectors on M9R & M9T
Engines has now been developed.

77 11 381 966
Dealer price: £44.10
Tool Auto-Issue
One Mot 1966 tool will be auto-issued to all Main Dealers (inc. Renault Retail Group) mid Sept 2010.
Satellite & Authorised Repairer workshops will receive an allocation of one tool during Nov 2010.
All other workshops (Retail Dealers) will be able to order the tool following the second auto-issue in
Nov 2010.
Repair Method
Refer to NT 3835A for the repair method.
Additional Information for use of Mot 1966 and severely corroded injectors:
 Ensure you have correctly sealed any open high and low pressure fuel fittings (risk of
contamination).
 Ensure the pipe fitting thread on the injector is not damaged as this may damage the tool.
 Ensure the cylinder head cover is clean with no debris present.
 Hand tighten the main pull rod on the injector and back off ¼ to ½ turn to allow the locking pin
to correctly locate between the support legs, this stops the main pull rod from over tightening
with the risk of tearing the head off the injector.
 In severe cases of corrosion a release agent Envirotec Industries ‘Torsion Plus’ may be
applied using the following process:
 Pre-tighten the tools main nut to 150Nm
 Apply Torsion Plus sparingly and allow to penetrate for 1 hour.
 Re-torque the tool to 150Nm if movement of the tool is felt then wait a further 10-20
minutes and reapply a torque of 150Nm.
 If no further movement is detected then apply a further 25Nm (total 175Nm) to the tool
and allow to sit for a further 1 hour or more. This period of tension increases the
effectiveness of Torsion Plus allowing it to fully penetrate the corrosion. The more
corrosion that is present the longer the waiting time required. Note that additional
Torsion Plus must be applied if it dries out.
 If the injector has still not released at this point then apply a further application of
Torsion Plus and leave overnight if possible.
