Digiteo > version anglaise > INTERNATIONAL > The "Guest Program" > Current guests > Guests 2014 Guests 2014 LIMSI ● ● Diana MCCARTHY, Affiliated Lecturer at the University of Cambridge, Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics (DTAL) Faculty of English Building, 9 West Road Cambridge CB3 9DB, Royaume-Uni from 30/03/2014 to 11/04/2014, Theme : Clustering Translations for Detecting Clusterability of Word Senses Hansjörg MIXDORFF, Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. at Beuth University Berlin, residing at Luxemburger Str. 10, 13353 Berlin from 16 July 2014 till 6 August 2014, Theme : the acoustical analysis of speech corpora – notably expressing variations in the speaker’s intentions, imitative behaviour and styles. Several models of prosodic analysis and stylisation will be applied (notably Fujisaki’s model, the model of the production process of F0) ; vocal quality parameters will also be investigated (notably the periodic/aperiodic ratio, spectral tilt, voicing strength), as well as visual correlates of attitude. These parameters will be matched to the perceived emotional expressions and interpreted in the light of sound symbolic codes (e.g. the frequency code). If feasible, we will also perform perception tests on inter-language perception attitudes by French subjects, employing stimuli collected in France, Germany and the US.
