Product overview
IBM® Tivoli® Storage Productivity Center Select Edition provides a set of policy-driven automated tools for managing storage
capacity, availability, events, performance, and assets in your enterprise environment. It offers disk system configuration and
management, performance management, storage area network (SAN) fabric management and configuration, and usage reports
and monitoring. IBM Tivoli Storage Productivity Center Select Edition provides identical function to Tivoli Storage Productivity
Center, but is licensed by the number of storage enclosures that it manages.
Tivoli Storage Productivity Center for Replication helps you to manage advanced copy services. Copy services are features that
are used by storage systems to configure, manage, and monitor data replication functions. These copy services include IBM
FlashCopy, Metro Mirror, Global Mirror, and Metro Global Mirror data replication.

Step 4: Install DB2
Before you can install Tivoli Storage Productivity Center, you must install DB2® Enterprise Server Edition.
Tivoli Storage Productivity Center stores the information that it collects about storage resources in a DB2 database. For

Step 5: Install IBM Tivoli Storage Productivity Center Select Edition
You can run the Tivoli Storage Productivity Center installation process through the GUI wizard or through a command line

The installation process includes the option to install Cognos® Business Intelligence reports and its components (Jazz™
for Service Management and IBM Tivoli Common Reporting). You are not required to install Cognos Business Intelligence
reports or its components; these products are optional. You can produce reports about the condition, capacity, and
performance of resources by using the reporting features in the Tivoli Storage Productivity Center GUI.
