Strong International dimension k 3 Joint/Double Degrees On top of the standard exchange programs included in all 2-year Master degrees, we offer specific International Master Programs, designed for students who want to combine advanced (professional or research) training in economics with international mobility and integration. These highly selective programs combine the best training courses of the partner universities and lead to joint degrees. Participating students (European or non-European) spend their first year of study abroad, the second in Louvain. The ESL brings together professors and researchers affiliated to leading international research institutions and it is recognized as one of the top educational institutions in Europe. Two research masters in 1- or 2- years The research masters provide advanced training in microeconomics, macroeconomics and econometrics, together with their applications to various specific fields of studies. They provide the best preparation to the PhD program. The programs are highly selective and competitive and meant only for ambitious, talented students. k Research Master in economics in 1- or 2- years [120 ECTS credits] For holders of a 3-year degree (180-ECTS credits) in economics. › The first year the student acquires a sound background in economics, quantitative methods, and an introduction to some fields. ›The second year consists of research oriented core courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics, quantitative methods, and an introduction to specific fields. A direct access to the second year of this programme is possible for students who have already accumulated 240 ECTS credits or hold a four year degree in economics. This allows the student to take more advanced and focused courses in the second year, in line with his (her) future PhD research work, and to obtain credits for the advanced field courses of the PhD Programme.
