ISB Forum Les petites annonces du LIB We would like to remind everyone about THE FORUM (in the menu on the left of your portal), a place where you can share the name of your favorite restaurant, sell a dining room table, or post any message that could be of interest to our community. Nous vous rappelons que LE FORUM (dans le menu à gauche de votre portail), est un espace où vous pouvez partager le nom de votre restaurant préféré, vendre une table de salle à manger, ou poster un message intéressant pour la communauté. In the heart of winter, I would like to take advantage of Valentine's Day to talk about our community's big heart. This week our Middle School students showed that they have a lot of heart with Compliments Day, an initiative put in place last year by the Student Council. "Rodrigue, as-tu du cœur?" This line from Corneille's Le Cid suggests sword fights and leads us to the recent victories of our fencing team, which distinguished itself in the Massachusetts State Championship, winning the individual and team gold medals in épée. For a valiant heart, nothing is impossible! We cannot talk about Corneille without mentioning the recent open theater classes of our Middle School students, which took place in the past two weeks. Our heartfelt congratulations to the students and their teacher, Laurence Causse, for their fine work. And one cannot talk about our community's big heart without thanking all the volunteers (students, parents, teachers and staff) who make so many things possible at ISB. Most recently, our many volunteers worked hard to make the "Where's Gatsby" party a great success, and I want especially to thank Judi Edwards, Marcie and Serge Roche, and their team for organizing this wonderful event. The next big ISB soirée will be our Annual Gala on April 11, on the theme IMAGINE, which coincides so well with the 50th anniversary of the arrival of the Beatles on the American continent. You should have received your invitations this week. Please remember to respond quickly if you wish to take advantage of the early-bird ticket prices. On Tuesday, all students received a heart shaped paper and were secretly assigned the name of a classmate within their grade for whom they had to write a compliment. The hearts with the compliments were distributed this morning, Valentine's Day, to the great pleasure of all.
