Ok, let’s start with minced beef, I making a spaghetti Bolognese.

S:

P:
No, that’s steak hâche – great for the Barbeque.
S:
Which reminds me I do want some sausages. There seem to be so many
types, small thin brown ones, red ones and big fat ones.
P:
Yes, and they’re all excellent. The thin brown ones are chipolatas.
S:
Chipolatas, I’ll remember that.
P:
And the red ones are merguez, hot and spicy.
S:
Merguez – what about the big fat ones?
P:
There are different types but they’re probably Toulouse sausages – saucisses
Toulouse.
S:
Sausscies Toulouse. Now if I want some chops....
P:
Then you ask for côtes du porc – pork chops - côtes d’agneau, lamb chops or
côte du veau, veal chops
S:
That’s great, pork chops – côtes du porc. Finally I need a chicken
