Information for Authors
The Papers of the Bibliographical Society of Canada is the official
publication of the Society and is distributed to members together
with a semi-annual Bulletin. Membership fees are $35.00 yearly for
individual members and $50.00 for institutional members, and may
be sent to the Society, P.O. Box 575, Station P, Toronto, Ontario,
Canada M5S 2T1.
Scholars working in any aspect of bibliographical study, Canadian
or otherwise, including printing and publishing history and textual
studies, are invited to submit papers in either English or French to
the Editor, Dr. Jennifer Connor, Department of History, Memorial
University of Newfoundland, St. John’s, NL A1C 5S7; email Jennifer.
[email protected]). All submissions should follow The Chicago
Manual of Style (15th ed., 2003) in format, with footnotes numbered
consecutively. Books for review should be sent to either Dr. Eli
MacLaren for books in English (1145 Dartmouth Avenue, Ottawa,
ON K1V 6J6; e-mail [email protected]) or Dr. Pascale Ryan
for books in French (5725, 5e avenue, Montréal, QC H1Y 2S9;
e-mail [email protected]).
The Bibliographical Society of Canada grants permission to quote
passages not exceeding 100 words from any article in the Papers free
of charge; reproduction of longer passages or of an entire article
will normally be permitted upon payment of a nominal fee, at the
discretion of the Publications Committee. Applications in writing
for permission to reprint should be submitted to the Society at the
address given above.
Opinions expressed by the authors of the papers and reviews are
not necessarily those of the Society.
Past issues of the Papers have been digitized (except for the last
three years) and are now accessible on this site: <http://digital.library.

Articles published in the Papers are indexed in the Canadian
Index, Canadian Periodical Index, America: History and Life, Historical
Abstracts, and the MLA International Bibliography, and contents are
listed in the Recent Periodicals section of The Library and on the BSC

la société du même nom, sont envoyés gratuitement aux membres qui
reçoivent également le Bulletin semestriel. La cotisation annuelle est
de 35,00 $ pour les particuliers et de 50,00 $ pour les institutions ;

Nous invitions les spécialistes de la bibliographie ou de l’histoire
de l’imprimerie et de l’édition à soumettre leurs articles, rédigés en

La Société bibliographique du Canada permet la citation de
passages de moins de cent mots provenant de tout article publié dans
les Cahiers. La reproduction d’un passage plus long ou d’un article
entier sera en règle générale autorisée moyennant paiement d’une
somme modique à la discrétion du Comité chargé des publications.
Les demandes d’autorisation doivent être soumises à la société à
l’adresse indiquée ci-dessus.
Les opinions exprimées dans les articles et comptes rendus publiés
dans les Cahiers sont celles de leurs auteurs et n’engagent pas la
responsabilité de la société.
