Lifting of the suspension of the Football Association of Indonesia
Dear acting president,
We would like to inform you that the case of the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) was debated
by the FIFA Council on 13 May 2016 in Mexico City.
The FIFA Council took note of the two letters sent by the Minister of State Secretary and the Minister
of Youth and Sports announcing the withdrawal of the decree which was at the origin of the FIFA
suspension. The Council deemed that the conditions for the lifting of suspension were thus met and
that PSSI was no longer suspended.
We are therefore very pleased to welcome PSSI back into the football family. FIFA and AFC are ready
to provide all support to PSSI to develop football in Indonesia and to address the topics listed in the
terms of reference of the PSSI Ad Hoc Reform Committee.
