For the past several months, TransCanada has been working with prospective shippers to define the scope of the proposed
Energy East project that would carry crude oil from Western Canada to Eastern Canadian markets.
On April 15, 2013, TransCanada commenced a binding open season to obtain firm long-term shipping commitments from
interested parties. The open season closed on June 17, 2013. While we are still going through the open season process,
we feel positive about the outcome and will be providing results in the near future.
TransCanada is committed to an open and respectful engagement process. Across Canada, we have begun our engagement
work on the Energy East project by meeting and sharing information with First Nation and Metis communities, community
leaders, local, provincial and federal governments, and landowners. We will be hosting numerous open houses across the
country so that anyone who is interested can have an opportunity to meet with project managers and technical staff from
TransCanada and learn more about the Energy East project. Please refer to the enclosed schedule to find the open house nearest

Au cours des derniers mois, TransCanada a travaillé avec des expéditeurs potentiels pour définir la portée du projet Oléoduc
Énergie Est, lequel transporterait du pétrole brut de l’ouest du Canada vers les marchés de l’est du Canada.
Le 15 avril 2013, TransCanada a lancé un appel de soumissions exécutoire visant à obtenir, de la part de parties intéressées, des
engagements fermes et à long terme pour la livraison de pétrole. L’appel de soumissions s’est terminé le 17 juin 2013. Bien que
le processus d’appel de soumissions ne soit pas encore complété, nous sommes confiants de son aboutissement favorable et en
communiquerons les résultats prochainement.
TransCanada s’est engagée à mettre en œuvre un processus de participation ouvert et respectueux. À travers le Canada,
nous avons débuté nos activités d’engagement des parties prenantes pour le projet Oléoduc Énergie Est en rencontrant et
en partageant de l’information avec les communautés des Premières Nations et des Métis, les leaders des communautés,
les instances gouvernementales municipales, provinciales et fédérales, et les propriétaires fonciers. Nous tiendrons plusieurs
rencontres portes ouvertes à travers le pays afin que les personnes intéressées aient l’occasion de rencontrer les gestionnaires
de projet et le personnel technique de TransCanada et d’en apprendre davantage sur le projet Oléoduc Énergie Est.

TransCanada is pleased to announce its plans to move forward with the 1.1 million barrels per day (bbl/d) Energy East Pipeline
project to transport oil from Western Canada to Saint John, New Brunswick based on binding, long-term contracts reached
during the open season. The conclusion of the successful open season confirmed strong market support for a pipeline with
approximately 900,000 bbl/d of firm, long term contracts to transport crude oil from Western Canada to Eastern Canadian
refineries and export terminals.

de 1,1 million de barils de pétrole par jour (b/j) de l’Ouest canadien à Saint John, au Nouveau-Brunswick, suite à la conclusion
de contrats contraignants à long terme lors de notre appel de soumissions exécutoires. La période d’appel de soumissions
