’année dernière, Kalori a fêté ses 20 ans, et pendant ces 20 ans,
nous n’avons cessé d’œuvrer pour réaliser l’un des premiers
objectifs de Marcel Perez lorsqu’il a fondé Kalori : être sollicité
par les constructeurs, en amont de leurs projets, afin d’assurer
la bonne conformité des développements au cahier des charges. Avec
un challenge permanent pour l’ensemble des collaborateurs de Kalori,
celui de répondre favorablement au triptyque gagnant : confort, qualité,
compétitivité.

Le constructeur hollandais de telehandlers utilise une climatisation spécifique
sur sa gamme de chargeuses.
Kalori équipe désormais la cabine destinée à l’ensemble de la gamme de
chargeuses TOBROCO.
L’Avenir, c’est toujours l’évolution de l’organisation pour améliorer la
performance. Cette année une partie importante des investissements
concernera la mise en place de moyens de calculs de performances plus
élaborés dans le laboratoire d’essais.
Les exigences des constructeurs évoluant, nous continuons à travailler
également sur l’amélioration de l’organisation de la qualité pour être en
phase avec les donneurs d’ordres les plus exigeants. De nouvelles têtes
nous ont rejoints, les budgets mis en place et la mobilisation de nos
équipes vont une fois encore nous permettre de réaliser ces évolutions.
Et puis, l’organisation ne devant pas être synonyme de paralysie, nous
respecterons toujours cet impératif : rester réactifs pour les très petites
séries, où la mise en œuvre de moyens sophistiqués n’est pas envisageable
et où l’expérience et l’approche pragmatique est garante du résultat.

ast year, Kalori celebrated its 20th birthday. During those 20
years, we have constantly strived to achieve one of the primary
objectives of Marcel Perez when he founded Kalori: to be
consulted by manufacturers, ahead of their projects, in order to
ensure good compliance with the specifications as of the development
stage.
The constant challenge for all the Kalori employees is to respond
positively to the winning triptych: comfort, quality and competitiveness.
The future is always the evolution of an organization to improve its
performance. This year, a large part of capital expenditure will be devoted
to setting up more sophisticated performance computing facilities in the
test laboratory.
As manufacturers’ requirements change, we also continue to work
on improving the quality organization to keep pace with the most
demanding clients.
New people have joined us, and the budgets allocated and the motivation
of our teams will once again enable us to make these changes.
And then, to avoid being stifled by the organization, we shall always
make sure to remain proactive for very small production runs, where the
setting up of sophisticated facilities is not feasible and where experience
and a pragmatic approach are the means to achieve results.

This innovative vehicle, half-way between a tractor and
a carrier, is equipped with a broad cab offering excellent
visibility, a large glazed surface and a very comfortable
volume. No problem for the air conditioning system selected
for this application. The Falkon Box is installed under the
vehicle’s seat and blows through six vents distributed at the
base of the windscreen, which ensures perfect demisting
and excellent comfort.
The Falkon Box is a standard evaporator encapsulated in a
sealed air terminal unit that can be installed under the cab. It

Le TAXIBOT, le nouveau projet de TLD, est un tracteur d’avion
«écolo» avec lequel TLD est le premier lauréat du prix national
de l’innovation industrielle. Ce nouveau prix mis en place par
Oséo doit démontrer que les Français savent encore imaginer
des produits innovants… et les fabriquer.
Ce taxibot a bénéficié de l’expertise de Kalori en ce qui
concerne la pressurisation puisqu’il est équipé d’un système
développé par le BE de KALORI.
Pressurization does not merely concern agricultural vehicles.
The Taxibot, a new project by TLD, is an «ecological» aircraft
tow-tractor with which TLD has become the first winner of the
national prize for industrial innovation. This new prize organized
by Oséo is designed to demonstrate that the French are still able
to imagine innovative products … and manufacture them.
This Taxibot benefited from Kalori’s pressurization expertise,
because it is equipped with a system developed by the Kalori
design office.

un chauffage économique pour les ambulances
An economical heating system for ambulances
Sur les ambulances de type C, la tendance se
confirme, les constructeurs veulent réduire leurs coûts
de fabrication en utilisant des unités de chauffage et de
climatisation combinées.
Ces unités deux en un (climatisation + chauffage)
constituent une véritable avancée dans le domaine
de l’ambulance partout où l’utilisateur n’a pas besoin
de chauffage « moteur à l’arrêt », c’est-à-dire presque
partout, car lorsque nous interrogeons les pompiers
des SDIS, la majorité déclare ne pas couper le moteur
de leur véhicule en cours d’intervention. De plus,
les chauffages à circulation d’eau (aérotherme) sont
désormais (depuis 2009) autorisés sur les ambulances
de type C à condition que les performances exigées par
la norme EN1789 soient respectées. C’est le cas pour le
FALKON.
Le FALKON KOMBI est un combiné chauffage +
climatisation tout récemment homologué par l’UTAC
sur Mercedes Benz Sprinter et Volkswagen Crafter.
Il permet des installations qui gagnent en confort
puisque chaud et froid peuvent être mixés et sortir par
les mêmes bouches d’aération, comme dans l’habitacle
d’une voiture. C’est plus confortable que lorsque l’air
froid (en haut) et l’air chaud (en bas) sont séparés,
aucune régulation n’est possible.
Piloté par une régulation électronique, le confort est
bluffant.

AMBULANCES
On type C ambulances, the trend is confirmed: manufacturers
want to reduce their manufacturing costs by using combined
heating and air conditioning units.
These two-in-one units (air conditioning + heating) represent
a real step forward in the ambulance sector wherever the
user does not need heating with the engine switched off, i.e.
almost everywhere, because when we question emergency
responders, most of them say they do not turn off the engine
of their vehicle during their intervention. Moreover, watercirculation heating systems (unit heaters) are now (since
2009) authorized on type C ambulances provided that the
properties required by the EN1789 standard are complied
with. This is the case for the Falkon.
The Falkon Kombi is a combined heating and air conditioning
system just recently certified by the UTAC on the Mercedes
Benz Sprinter and Volkswagen Crafter.
It can be used for installations giving improved comfort,
because heat and cold can be mixed and come out via the
same vents, as in the passenger compartment of a car. This
is more comfortable than when the cold air (at the top) and
hot air (at the bottom) are separate, since no regulation is
possible.
Controlled by an electronic regulation system, the comfort
is amazing.

ainsi un gain de place et de poids pour laisser de
l’espace aux intervenants et aux autres matériels.
• Les utilisateurs feront également une vraie
économie sur la maintenance, puisque le FALKON est
un chauffage sans entretien. Une vraie économie sur la
consommation de carburant puisque cet aérotherme
est un simple radiateur équipé d’un ventilateur, ce qui
constitue la version la plus économique d’un chauffage.
• L’homologation a été effectuée par L’UTAC
sur véhicule L2H2 ce qui constitue une couverture de
gamme importante.
Cerise sur le gâteau, Kalori vous fournit un dossier
complet de certification 2006/40, sans laquelle
l’ambulance ne peut pas obtenir la certification
autorisant son utilisation.

The Falkon offers many benefits:
• This Kombi is compact and light. It therefore
permits space and weight savings to leave room for the
personnel and other equipment.

maintenance, because the Falkon is a maintenance-free
heating system. Real savings on fuel consumption, because
this unit heater is a simple radiator equipped with a fan,
which is the most economical version of a heating system.
• Certification was performed by the UTAC on an
L2H2 vehicle, which means it covers a broad range.
As the cherry on the cake, Kalori provides you with
complete 2006/40 certification documents, without which
the ambulance cannot obtain the certification authorizing
its use.

Une des grandes spécialités de Kalori, c’est le
mini. Le catalogue s’est agrandi avec des produits
de petite taille qui s’intègrent dans les cabines ou
les véhicules où la compacité est de mise.
Malgré cette contrainte d’espace, les exigences
sont les mêmes, obtenir du confort, mais aussi un
bon désembuage avec des appareils compacts.
Le tout nouvel ALIZE, malgré sa petite taille, est
équipé d’un ventilateur 3 vitesses à résistance
protégée. Il en est de même pour l’ALIZE NEW VI
et le COMPACT EVO1. Ces trois minis chauffages
sont vraiment idéaux pour les cabines d’UTV,
de chariot élévateur et de tous les espaces
impossibles à équiper… impossible mais pas pour
KALORI.
Et après le mini chauffage, la mini clim. La
puissance est pourtant au rendez-vous puisque
le compact Evo2 clim permet de climatiser une
cabine de 1.8 m3 avec un résultat très satisfaisant.
(Les essais réalisés montrent un delta de
température de 13°c – moyenne opérateur - dans
des conditions « sérieuses » : température 37°C,
humidité relative 45%, ensoleillement 950 W/m²).

THE compact fai
One of Kalori’s main specialties is the mini. The catalogue has been
enlarged by small-sized products which fit into cabs or vehicles where
compactness is essential.
Despite this space constraint, the requirements are the same: obtaining
comfort, but also good demisting, with compact devices.
Notwithstanding its small size, the brand new Alize is equipped with
a 3-speed fan with a protected resistor. The same holds for the Alize
New VI and the Compact Evo1. These three mini heaters are truly
ideal for cabs of UTVs, lift trucks and all spaces that seem impossible
to equip … impossible, but not for Kalori.
And after the mini heater, the mini aircon. There is no sacrifice of
power, however, because the compact Evo2 aircon can treat a 1.8 m3
cab with a very satisfactory result. (The tests performed show a 13°C
temperature change – operator average - in «serious» conditions:
temperature 37°C, relative humidity 45%, insolation 950 W/m²).

La petite KE et les très grandes bouches
3 volets KM et KL (très utilisées dans
l’agricole) marquent cette année
l’évolution de la gamme de grilles et
bouches d’aération. Pour ces deux
créations, la qualité est la même
que celle de la désormais grande
classique KB : un toucher agréable,
un fonctionnement à la fois précis et
qualitatif avec le crantage en rotation qui
scande la rotation d’un « clic clic » qui fait
très automobile.

The little KE and the very large 3-damper vents KM and KL (used
extensively in agricultural applications) are the major development this
year in the range of air grilles and vents. For these two creations, the
quality is the same as that of the now classic KB: pleasant to the touch,
precise operation and quality features with notched control knobs which
make a very car-like clicking sound when turned.
Power-operated damper couplings
With this little damper module, the user controls the air flow. There is now
nothing easier than to produce an installation with very car-like operation:
several dampers can be coupled together to control the air flow in several
vents at the same time. It is installed on an air duct, with couplings of
several diameters (40 to 55 mm), or on the side of a plenum or an air
terminal unit.
This coupling can be controlled by a cable control system or an electric
actuator.
Toujours à l’écoute, le BE de Kalori ….
Le design est réalisé par le BE de Laurent Combe et
plus particulièrement sous la responsabilité d’Anthony
Fierimonte. Anthony développe des composants
en injection plastique depuis 7 ans au sein du BE
de Kalori (il est responsable des développements en
plasturgie).
Pour l’esthétique ? On soupçonne les origines
italiennes d’Anthony Fierimonte d’être responsables
de l’élégance de ses créations !

Design is performed by the design office run by Laurent
Combe and in particular under the responsibility of
Anthony Fierimonte. Anthony has been developing
plastic injection components for the past seven years
in the Kalori design office (he is head of plastic products
manufacturing development).
And aesthetics? We suspect that Anthony Fierimonte’s
Italian origins explain the elegance of his creations !

Nicolas Coquerelle est arrivé chez
KALORI en 2010, il a immédiatement
intégré l’équipe de Luc Bellemin et
accumulé les missions de SAV, mais
aussi et surtout de maquettage,
définitions de nomenclature et
assistance technique diverse.
L’équipe en France s’étoffe, ce qui
permet à Nicolas de réaliser un de ses
objectifs : s’expatrier, au moins pour un
temps, en Chine, à Zhongshan, où il va
créer le TID chinois de Zhongshan Kalori
Air Conditioning Industry Co., ltd.
La chine, il connait déjà, et ses
nombreuses missions auprès de
constructeurs d’engins ou de véhicules
en Chine l’ont convaincu des possibilités
d’évolutions de sa carrière. C’est donc
fin décembre 2013, accompagné de sa
compagne Gaëlle et de Idylle, son tout
jeune Bull terrier, que Nicolas Coquerelle
est parti avec une aller simple rejoindre
la filiale chinoise de KALORI.
*Le TID (technical intervention department), c’est
le nom depuis un an du service après-vente, ce
nom a évolué puisque l’ancien SAV réalise plus
de prototypage ou d’assistance technique que de
SAV.

his career development. So, at the end
of December 2013, accompanied by

Chinese subsidiary.

goals: work as an expatriate, at least

se détendent le corps et l’esprit… un vrai

K
alori c’est bien sûr la climatisation et le
chauffage, mais certains constructeurs ont
commencé leur partenariat avec la société
lyonnaise parce qu’ils avaient trouvé le
diffuseur d’air idéal pour leur application dans le
catalogue de KALORI.
Au fur et à mesure de l’écoute des besoins des
constructeurs, la gamme s’est étendue pour
devenir l’une des plus complètes et des plus
compétitives du marché. Elle est souvent choisie
pour sa plus grande qualité : l’élégance.
Les accessoires sont regroupés désormais sous un
label qui les différencie de la gamme de chauffage
et de climatisation : Kalori Trim Line.
Kalori a commencé à développer sa première
bouche d’aération en 2000 pour la société TIM,
fabricant de cabine du groupe Fritzmeier.
Kalori avait bénéficié à cette époque d’une aide à
l’innovation de l’ANVAR, le design avait été confié à
un cabinet de design de la région Rhône Alpes.
Depuis ce premier essai, la gamme s’est élargie et
l’on en est à la 3ème génération de bouches KB,
le best-seller de la gamme. L’expérience accumulée et le
savoir-faire acquis ont donné naissance à la dernière KB,
présentée à l’ensemble des constructeurs en 2012. Ce
diffuseur d’air fait l’unanimité : design sobre, construction
parfaite et manipulation agréable donnent à cet accessoire
standard une qualité perçue qui profite à l’aspect général
de la cabine et de l’engin. Des versions plus « haut de
gamme » ont enrichi l’offre : la bouche KB existe en effet
avec la partie fixe chromée en standard ou chromée mat
sur demande.
Cette bouche se fixe dans le tableau de bord avec le
système « multiclip » inventé par le BE de Kalori. Ce
système astucieux assure une accroche efficace même
dans les tableaux de bord dont l’épaisseur n’est pas
régulière. Le système est tout bête, mais il fallait y penser !

Ce diffuseur d’air peut être équipé de raccords pour
gaine Ø40 à Ø70 mm, il existe aussi un raccord Ø55mm
courbé à 90°.

but some manufacturers
began their partnership

ideal air diffuser for their application
in the Kalori catalogue.
As we listened to the manufacturers’
requirements, the product range
expanded to become one of the most

Accessories are now grouped

Kalori began to develop its first
vent in 2000 for TIM, the cab
manufacturing company of the
Fritzmeier group.
At that time Kalori received an
innovation aid from the French
research promotion organization
ANVAR, and the design was
entrusted to a design firm in the
Rhône Alpes region.
Since that first try, the product
range has expanded and we have
reached the third generation of KB
vents, the best-seller in the range.
Our
accumulated
experience
and established expertise gave
rise to the latest KB, presented
to all the manufacturers in 2012.
This air diffuser is a unanimous
success: its sober design, perfect
construction and pleasant handling
give this standard accessory a
perceived quality that enhances
the general appearance of the cab
and the machine. More «upmarket»
versions have enriched the offer:
the KB vent is available with the
fixed part chromium-plated as a
standard feature or matt chromiumplated on demand.
This vent is attached in the
dashboard with the «multiclip»
system invented by the Kalori
design office. This clever system
ensures effective fastening even in
dashboards whose thickness is not
regular. The system is very simple,
but who would ever have dreamed
of it!
This air diffuser can be fitted with
couplings for ducts of dia. 40 to 70
mm, and there is also a 90° curved
coupling of dia. 55 mm.
The product range is constantly
enriched by the creation of new
grilles, vents of different sizes,
connection accessories or damper
or butterfly valve systems to be able
to form more car-like units from
standard elements.

C’était une utopie il y a quelques années, c’est une réalité maintenant.
La climatisation deviendra très rapidement non pas un plus, mais un
équipement de base sur les VSP. En été, il fait en effet aussi chaud dans une
VSP que dans une voiture !
La climatisation offre effectivement un vrai confort « comme dans une
grande » à ces véhicules qui n’ont plus grand chose à envier à leurs
grandes sœurs. Les tests réalisés en chambre climatique ont démontré des
performances identiques à celles obtenues sur des véhicules classiques.
