Chers citoyens et citoyennes,
L’été frappe à notre porte et nous sommes prêts pour cette
nouvelle saison qui s’annonce extrêmement mouvementé avec
des activités et des évènements pour tous nos citoyens et
citoyennes mais également pour nos milliers de visiteurs.
Comme vous pourrez le constater dans les pages du Guide
du Bon temps que vous avez entre les mains, la Ville et ses
partenaires n’ont rien négligé afin de vous faire vivre un été
chaleureux.
Plusieurs évènements marquants sont prévus soit la 67e édition
du Festival du homard du 6 au 10 juillet, les Jeux de l’Acadie
50+ Shediac 2016 du 18 au 21 août, le Rallye moto Shediac
du 26 au 28 août, le Méga spectacle acadien le 16 juillet avec
Bois Joli, Réveil, Zacharie Richard et Travis Cormier et le Méga
spectacle country le 6 août avec nul autre que Florida Georgia
Line.
La Ville est également heureuse des travaux majeurs entrepris
au Parc Pascal-Poirier qui ouvre officiellement ses portes le 15
juin avec une programmation très diversifiée pour tout l’été et
l’automne. La ville a aussi vu des améliorations importantes au
Parc Jubilee avec la présentation des Jeux de l’Acadie 50+.
Encore cette année, j’invite les citoyens et citoyennes à
participer aux nombreuses activités tout au long de l’été et
surtout j’invite la population à continuer à faire preuve d’un
accueil chaleureux auprès de nos nombreux visiteurs qui vont
venir encore en très grand nombre cet été.

Dear citizens:
Summer is almost here and we are ready for the upcoming
season that is shaping up to be filled with activities and
events for all of you and our thousands of visitors.
As you will see in the Good Times Guide you have in
your hands, the Town and its partners didn’t hold anything
back to make sure you make the most of your summer.
Several big events are planned, including the 67th
edition of the Lobster Festival from July 6-10, the Jeux
de l’Acadie 50+ Shediac 2016 from August 18-21, the
Shediac Motorcycle Rally from August 26-28, the Mega
Acadian Concert on July 16 featuring Bois Joli, Réveil,
Zacharie Richard and Travis Cormier and the Mega
Country Concert on August 6 featuring none other than
Florida Georgia Line.
The Town is also pleased with the major works undertaken
at Pascal Poirier Park that will officially open on June 15
with a much diversified program planned for the summer
and fall seasons. The Jeux de l’Acadie 50+ also brought
about major improvements at the town’s Jubilee Park.
Again this year, I urge all citizens to take part in the
numerous activities planned for the summer and I
especially encourage the public to continue to extend a
warm welcome to our visitors who are sure to come in
large numbers again this summer.
In closing, I wish all of you a wonderful summer and
hope that large numbers of you will participate in the
various summer activities organized by the municipality
and other events hosted by our non-profit organizations.
I look forward to seeing you at our numerous activities.

Les réunions du conseil municipal se dérouleront à 19 h en la salle du
conseil à l’hôtel de ville au 290, rue Main. Le public est cordialement invité à y participer. L’horaire des réunions est le suivant : 27 juin (réunion
ordinaire); 11 juillet (réunion extraordinaire); 29 août (réunion ordinaire).
The Town Council Meetings are held at 7 p.m. at the Shediac Town Hall
located at 290 Main Street. The public is cordially invited to attend these
meetings. The schedule for the meetings is as follow: June 27 (regular
meeting), July 11 (special meeting), August 29 (regular meeting).

Nouvel arrêté sur la circulation et le stationnement
dans la ville de Shediac
Le conseil municipal de la ville de Shediac a adopté récemment un
nouvel arrêté qui réglemente la circulation et le stationnement sur tout
le territoire de la municipalité. Le nouvel arrêté 15-28 remplace l’ancien arrêté 00-28 et implique plusieurs changements importants pour
assurer la sécurité des citoyens et citoyennes de la ville de Shediac.
Nous aimerions donc attirer votre attention plus particulièrement sur
les points suivants :
1 - Stationnement de quatre-vingt-dix (90) minutes : Il sera
dorénavant interdit de stationner plus de 90 minutes sur les deux côtés
de la rue Main aux endroits désignés de stationnement entre les rues
Chesley et Victoria et sur l’avenue Belliveau, du côté sud aux endroits
désignés de stationnement, entre les rues Weldon et Pleasant.
2 - Stationnement interdit : Il sera interdit de stationner un véhicule
à moteur pendant plus de cinq (5) heures par période de 24 heures sur
la même rue, à moins que l’affichage indique autrement.
3 - Stationnement pour personnes handicapées : Nul ne doit arrêter, placer ou stationner un véhicule à moteur dans un stationnement
réservé aux personnes handicapées.
4 - Pistes cyclables : Stationnement interdit dans toutes les zones de
pistes cyclables sur tout le territoire de la ville de Shediac.
Une période d’adaptation est prévue afin de permettre aux
citoyens de s’adapter à ces nouveaux règlements.
Pour toutes infractions à l’arrêté sur la circulation, un contrevenant
est passible d’une amende minimale de 30 $ et d’au plus 125 $ et voir
son véhicule remorqué s’il y a récidive.

New by-law relating to traffic and parking
in the Town of Shediac
Shediac Town Council recently approved a new by-law that provides
for regulation of traffic and parking across the municipality’s territory.
The new By-law #15-28 replaces By-law #00-28 and includes several
major changes in order to ensure the safety of the citizens of Shediac.
We would therefore like to bring your attention more specifically to
the following items:
1 - 90 minute parking: It will now be prohibited to park for longer
than 90 minutes along both sides of Main Street in designated parking
spaces between Chesley Street and Victoria Street and on Belliveau
Avenue, on the south side of the designated parking spaces, between
Weldon Street and Pleasant Street.
2 - No parking: It will be prohibited to park motor vehicles for more
than five (5) hours in a 24-hour period on a same street, unless otherwise indicated via signage.
3 - Parking for those with disabilities: No stopping, dropping off
or parking a motor vehicle in a parking space reserved for those with
disabilities.
4 - Bike paths: No parking in any bike path area across the Town of
Shediac’s territory.
An adjustment period is foreseen in order to enable citizens to
adjust to these new regulations.
Any traffic by-law violation is liable to a fine of at least $30 and up
to a maximum of $125; the vehicle will be towed for any subsequent
offense.

Avec la banque alimentaire, nous desservons chaque mois de la
nourriture à environ 500 familles démunies provenant des régions entre
Shemogue, Cap-Pelé, Shediac, Scoudouc, Cocagne, Saint- Antoine et
Notre-Dame. Le Vestiaire a aussi un magasin où nous vendons toutes
sortes de linge et d’articles (jouets, vaisselle, électronique, etc.). Le
public est invité à magasiner au Vestiaire. Les profits vont pour
l’achat de nourriture au Vestiaire St-Joseph Inc.
The food bank at the Vestiaire St-Joseph Inc. serves food to over
500 less fortunate families per month within the following areas:
Shemogue, Cap-Pelé, Shediac, Scoudouc, Cocagne, Saint-Antoine
and Notre-Dame. We also have a store where we sell used clothing
and other assorted articles (toys, dishes, electronics, etc.). The public

School Supplies Campaign
Il y aura la campagne de la rentrée scolaire avec la collecte de
matériaux scolaires neufs pour les enfants de familles démunies.
Le public est invité à faire un don en argent ou de matériaux neufs
à la banque alimentaire. En 2015, plus de 200 enfants ont profité du
programme.
Fin juillet au mi-août
L’Ange Souriant - collecte de nourriture
Composée entièrement de bénévoles, ils vont faire du porte-à-porte
dans les rues de Shediac afin d’amasser de la nourriture. Il y a aussi
des bénévoles dans les 3 épiceries (Sobeys, Co-op IGA et Nofrills) afin
de ramasser des dons en nourriture ou en argent.
Dimanche 28 août de 10 h à 14 h
BBQ et 50/50 au parc Rotary
Pendant La Tournée à Shediac des voitures anciennes, il y aura un
BBQ et vente de 50/50 organisé par le Vestiaire St-Joseph Inc. Tous les
profits seront versés au Vestiaire.
Dimanche 18 septembre de 14 h à 16 h
Parade de Mode au Centre multifonctionnel
Les bénévoles du Vestiaire St-Joseph Inc. organisent une Parade de
Mode de linges usagés du Vestiaire. Les billets au cout de 10 $ sont
disponibles au magasin du Vestiaire et la Pharmacie Jean Coutu de
Shediac. Tous les profits seront versés à la banque de nourriture.

The School Supplies Campaign helps families with school children
where the public donates money or new school supplies by dropping
them off at the food bank. Over 200 children received school supplies
in 2015.

Smiling Angels comprised entirely of local volunteers, will kick off once
again their Food Drive Campaign. They will be going door to door in the
Shediac area and will also be in the 3 local grocery stores (Sobeys, Coop IGA and NoFrills) collecting donations of food and/or money.

BBQ and 50/50 at Rotary Park
During the Antique Car Show, there will be a BBQ and a 50/50 draw, all
proceeds will be donated to the Vestiaire St-Joseph Inc.
Sunday, September 18 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Fashion Show at the Shediac Multipurpose Centre
Vestiaire volunteers will be organizing a Fashion Show where all
proceeds will be donated to the food bank. Tickets are on sale for $10
at the Vestiaire store and at Jean Coutu Pharmacy in Shediac.
