CURRENT MAC RESIDENCY PROGRAMS Each year, more than 300 Manitoban Artists participate in MAC supported residencies in Manitoba, Quebec, and New Brunswick. Since 2006, over 60 artists have experimented and created new art in the beautiful natural setting of Riding Mountain National Park. The Deep Bay Residency Program provides a rare glimpse for the park visitors and residents of the community of Clear Lake (Manitoba) into how new works of art are created. This year alone, over 42,350 students in 305 schools throughout Manitoba participated in the Artists in the Schools and ArtsSmarts residencies. In 2013, eleven communities received received support from the Manitoba Arts Council through the Artist in the Community Residency Program. The program supports communities that face barriers to accessing the arts to engage in creative collaborations with established and professional artists. The Manitoba/New Brunswick/Quebec Creative Residency is a multidisciplinary program that assists professional Manitoba artists to undertake a creation-based or professional development residency in New Brunswick or Quebec. The program began in 2009 as a partnership between Manitoba and New Brunswick. It expanded in 2011 to include Quebec. Since 2009, 12 artists have participated in this program. NEW RESIDENCY PROGRAM! The Brooklyn Visual Arts Residency supports professional, mid-career visual artists and curators from Manitoba to undertake a three-month residency in Brooklyn, New York, at the International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP). The program will provide an opportunity for Manitoba's mid-career visual artists and curators to participate in an international residency. Artists will take part in the programming and professional development offered by the ISCP including: an in-house community of artists and curators, providing international connections;professional conversations and critiques; visiting critics; field trips; salons and open studios; and community engagement in Brooklyn and Greater New York City through public programming. This program will also introduce New York audiences to the visual artistic practices of Manitoba artists and curators. Le Programme de résidence pour les artistes visuels à Brooklyn soutient les artistes visuels et les conservateurs professionnels manitobains à mi-carrière qui souhaitent entreprendre une résidence de création de trois mois à Brooklyn (New York) dans l'immeuble de l'International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP) Ce programme offre aux artistes visuels et aux conservateurs manitobains à mi-carrière la possibilité de participer à une résidence internationale. Les artistes peuvent également participer à la programmation et au perfectionnement professionnel offerts par l'ISCP, y compris l'établissement de liens internationaux avec une collectivité interne d'artistes et de conservateurs, des conversations et des critiques professionnelles, des liens avec des critiques invités, des excursions dans des musées et galeries, des salons et des expositions dans le cadre de journées portes ouvertes, ainsi qu'une mobilisation communautaire à Brooklyn et New York par le biais d'une programmation publique. Ce programme permet aussi aux auditoires de New York de découvrir les pratiques artistiques visuelles des artistes et conservateurs manitobains.
