Devoir in the negative
On ne doit pas courir dans le couloir.- You mustn’t run in the corridor.
Il ne faut pas + infinitive
Il ne faut pas arriver en retard.- You mustn’t arrive late.
Il est interdit de+ infinitive/ Il est défendu de+ infinitive
(Il est interdit de manger) / (Il est défendu de manger )en classe.- Eating in class is forbidden.
Défense de…. (may be seen on notices)
