A/ Action!
I get up at half past seven.
I cook eggs and bacon and have breakfast at ten past eight.
I don’t walk to work, I cycle. It’s good exercise!
Sometimes I go home by bus.
Then I go shopping after work.
I often have lunch with my friend Joan.
We meet at one o’clock in the cafeteria and have a sandwich or a salad.
We are back at work at a quarter to two…. When we are not late!
We finish work at 6 o’clock.
But I never have time to play tennis or water the garden on a weekday
evening!
I always buy fresh bread and fruit on the way back home, cook dinner for
the family, read the evening newspaper and go to bed at ten!

order the chef’s famous apple pie.
On the way home, they do their shopping and buy newspapers for Julie. She
reads them on the bus. It's a 45-minute ride.
The family is ready for dinner at seven, but Sean is often late. Julie always

A/ SCRIPT
Janet: Hello Bob! What are you doing here?
Bob: Shopping, my dear… and what are you doing here? Not working at your
hospital?
Janet: No, I’m not! This is Saturday, and I never work at weekends. I do the
shopping, play golf and cook dinner.
Bob: Who cooks the family breakfast and lunch, then?
Janet: Well, Jerry cooks breakfast and we often have sandwiches for lunch because
the boys have football training or matches on Saturdays at 2 o’clock
Bob: Sandwiches? Football? That’s a busy day! I like a big breakfast, read my
newspaper in the garden and enjoy one of Martha’s delicious lunches. Then I
sometimes go into town and meet friends in the afternoon.
Janet: Aha… and do you play golf or tennis with your friends?
Bob: No, I don’t. We always play cards. But today is special….
Janet: Why is it “special”?
Bob: It is Martha’s birthday and she likes big birthday parties. So, I’m inviting all our
friends! You and your family are welcome, dear Janet!
Janet: That’s very nice of you, Bob. Thank you. Where and when is the party?
Bob: We are meeting at a quarter to six at the College café. Don’t be late!
