This spa town with a unique setting invites you to relax and
pamper yourself thanks to its numerous professionals dedicated to beauty.
The Nériades spa, opened in February 2014 is located right in
the center of the town, within the former 1930’s baths, with
its preserved Moorish façade. This 1000 square meters building offers you a sensory area with indoor and outdoor pool,
sauna, steam room, as well as a complete range of thermal
water treatments. This offer is completed with a variety of
beauty and wellness treatments for face and body with the
Payot and Terraké brands. Don’t forget the men’s and teenagers’ treatments and the duet cabin.
All the range of treatments can be booked individually or by
package, with or without accommodation.
In the town, the beauty parlors and the manicurist will also
make you look gorgeous from head to toe.
The thermal baths of Néris-les-Bains offer medical
treatments for 3 therapeutic indications: rheumatology,
neurology and psychosomatic disorders. 2 supplementary
packages can be added: the Parkinson disease package and
the pudendal neuralgia package.
The thermal baths also offer 6-day health stays on the
following themes: stress management, sleep management
and pain management.

Events and Culture
The town still keeps the special charm of the spa towns and
offers you a joyful atmosphere in the historical setting of its
cultural infrastructures.
Let yourself travel back in time into the Belle Epoque period in
the André Messager Theater, where you can picture yourself as an
“élégante” as you see a play, concert, dance show or movie.
Let yourself be thrilled by the atmosphere of the casino with its
slots machines, black-jack, electronic roulette and have a night
out dancing at the Royal Lounge.
In the summer season, enjoy the setting of the esplanade for
outdoor events in the park, while drinking a coffee on a terrace.
In 2014, women will be the theme of the season, with a range
of entertainment such as plays, concerts, exhibitions or sports
competitions.

• Arts and crafts market on July 6th
• Weekly market on the Place de
la République each Thursday and
Sunday morning.
Each month, theme week-ends allow you to discover a sport, a
music style, or a country.
You can also find a weekly entertainment program including
guided tours, hikes, dance classes or excursions.

Nature at the heart
of the town

Here you won’t need to go out of the town to take advantage
of the quietness. 6 parks amounting to 17 hectares offer a
wide range of species some of which are very rare such as the
gingko biloba and the Tulipier de Virginie.
The Parc du Casino is especially interesting for its flowerbeds
being planted according to the seasons.
Close by are several walks which offer a varied natural
setting.
You can go to the lake to take a breath of fresh air, have a
walk, a picninc or fish. The pedestrian path, former railway
track between Néris and Montluçon, is now a walking path
where you can walk or take a bike ride on the viaducts and
enjoy the view on the plain. Nestled at the top of a wooded
hill, the St Joseph chapel can be discovered with a nice walk
under the shade of the pines.
You can follow the network of walking and cycling paths
suitable for all levels in a slightly undulating landscape.
The thermal past of the town also gives it a number of
structures originally created for the entertainment of the
visitors: the Sainte Agathe golf course (18-hole course under
the viaducts), the clay tennis courts in the heart of the town
and the St-Jean racecourse in Montluçon.
Other sports activities can be practiced: swimming at the
covered swimming-pool, horsebackriding, mini golf, gym,
aquagym among others.

A wide range of activities are possible for all ages to take
advantage of the natural and historical heritage.
Here are a few ideas to please the whole family:
For the sports addicts, you can have a walk or a bike ride on
the pedestrian path, or go around the lake for a shorter tour.
Then a picnic on the lake’s shore where you will relax
but also have fun on the playground. To finish, a miniature golf
competition or a jump at the covered swimming-pool.
For the more serious ones, take a visit at the Maison du
Patrimoine, a museum where the children will discover the
daily objects of the Roman era. And a tour through the town
in search of little treasures following the pictures of the
heritage trail.
For the nature lovers, pay a visit to the animals of the discovery farm La Goutte du Lac to meet the bunnies, donkeys and
farmyard animals… and have a little snack.

For the teenagers, the skate park in the Parc des Chaudes or
the teen menu at the Nériades spa where you can have a face
or hand treatment, or a body scrub…
After all these efforts, get some strength by eating a crêpe, a
pizza or an ice-cream in one of the numerous cafés or restaurants in the town.

Back to the time…
The elegance of a spa town in a natural environment
As far as Prehistory, the thermal spring has been the main
character influencing the destiny of the town. At first
mysterious and wild, then tamed and curative, the César
spring emanation of the Celtic God Nérios – after which the
town was named – still supplies the baths and the Nériades
spa.
This rich history gives the town the asset of presenting both
an Antique and Belle Epoque heritage, which can be discovered through a self-tour, guided tours or audio trail.
The Roman remains can be discovered in the Maison du
Patrimoine, the Parc des Arènes, the Roman pools and the
Cheberne Villa. Don’t miss the church and the stone tombs of
the Merovingian Necropolis on the Place de la République.
The thermal area, true historical escape in the heart of the
Belle Epoque, offers the most unique setting. You can discover the baths, Casino, hotels, eclectic style villas in the gree-
nery of the Parc du Casino. Take time to move along with
the theater’s masks and its dancing allegories on the mural
paintings. Take a look inside to discover its pleasant atmosphere and Italian-style scene.
At a stone’s throw distance, discover the Pavillon du Lac,
former train station of Art Déco style. Take a look at its
original pink and grey sandstones and its roof of multicolored
tiles. Then you will truly picture yourself as one of the elegant
visitors coming to town by train.
