Hidden in All Things
Joe Lima — « Mon travail consiste à une conjonction entre l’intimité et l’étendue. Nous
pénétrons dans l'intimité de notre existence en relation avec l'immensité d’un autre
monde, d’une autre dimension.
Je suis particulièrement intéressé à la manière par laquelle l’attention de ce monde
physique dévoile l'inconnu et pénètre curieusement le domaine du secret et du
mystérieux. C'est une façon d'examiner et de répondre à l'acte de l'écoute clandestine,
un acte secret de la communication avec le monde naturel.
Dans le processus de création de ces œuvres, je me concentre sur l’effet qu’entraînent
les figures et les structures à l'environnement qu’elles occupent, et notre perception de
leur présence à cet environnement en retour.
C'est une façon pour moi d’entrer en contact et de comprendre ce qui s’y cache, en y
révélant la contemplation, la recherche et la communication individuelle avec
«l’invisible» qui se dissimule dans les structures, les paysages et les espaces
intérieurs. »
Hidden in All Things
Joe Lima — “In my work, I combine the world of the intimate with the expansive. It is the
intimacy of our existence in relation to the vastness in the dimension of another world.
I am particularly interested in the ways in which this attentiveness to the physical world
gives rise to the unknown and evokes a curiosity to understand the realm of secrets and
mystery. It is a way to examine and respond to the act of surreptitious listening, a
secretive act of communication with the natural world.
In the process of creating these works, I focus on the way figures and structures effect
the environment in which they occupy, and in turn affect the way we perceive their
presence.
It is a way for me to make contact and try to understand what is hidden, it is to reveal
the individual contemplating, searching and communicating with the “invisible” that is
lurking within the structures, landscapes and interior spaces.”
