Mr. Loïc Laisné, Deputy Head to the “Préfet maritime de l’Atlantique”* will welcome the
group and will talk about the role of the “Préfecture maritime de l’Atlantique”.
*(In France, “The “Préfet maritime” is a civil servant who exercises authority over the sea
in one particular region -the “Préfecture maritime” -. As a civil servant, he reports to the
Prime Minister. The Maritime Prefect is simultaneously in charge of military operations.)

Transportation between Brest airport and your hotel in Brest
There is a bus shuttle service linking the Brest Bretagne airport to the city centre of
Brest. You will get off at the tourist office, 8, avenue Georges Clémenceau (stop: “Office
de Tourisme”). A return ticket costs EUR 8.40. Tickets can be purchased on the bus.
From the bus station “Office de Tourisme”, it is a five-minute walk to your hotel.
Please note: Travel expenses using the public transportation system will be
reimbursed upon submission of tickets or invoices to Ms Beatrice Koch.
Transportation in Brest on Monday, 12 November and on Tuesday, 13 November
2012 (visits)
The Préfecture maritime de l’Atlantique (visit scheduled on 14 November) is situated
within walking distance of the hotel Oceania.
A mini-bus has been hired for these 2 days. It will take the group to the CEDRE, the
SHOM, the “Capitainerie du Port” and The Abeille Flandre.
Meals
Participants shall pay for their own meals while in Brest using the monthly living
allowance.
