ACCOMMODATION AND USEFUL INFORMATION
Accommodation
The International Office helps students to find an accommodation
Contact person: Odile Pons
Student can rent :
- Private accommodation, private studio or shared flat (2 or 3 students)
with all commodities (dishes, blankets, pillows…)
- University residence (very limited number)
Fees
Further information will be provided to each nominated student, who will have to return the
accommodation form before June 25th
When registering at the Université Haute Alsace :
- Sport facilities: 15€
- Health Insurance
You are a citizen from EU :
Exempted from this obligation by using the European Health Insurance card (compulsory)
You are not a citizen from EU countries :
French Health Insurance is compulsory: 211 € (in 2013-2014)
Students can get a “Culture Card” which gives discounts on cultural events in Alsace, and a
“Museum Card” with free entrance in Alsace, Germany and Switzerland.
Residence Permit,
for non EU students
(even if they come
from a EU University)
Long stay «visa D» for non EU citizen, with the reference «ETUDIANT» (compulsory, and
stongly advised even for a short stay) obtained with the Acceptation Letter from our University.

- before leaving their country, students receive from the French Embassy a form named
« Visa Long Séjour - Demande d’attestation OFII », necessary to get their residence permit.
(OFII = Office Français pour l’Immigration et l’Intégration)
- on their arrival, the Frontier Policy has to put a stamp with the arrival date on the passport.
Cost of living
Approximate cost of living: 700 ~ 900 € / month
- Accommodation: 250 ~ 500€ / month
- University canteen, lunch only: 3,10 € / lunch (~60€ / month)
- Food, usual items : about 200€ / month
