Semaine des bibliothèques – 2 au 8 avril
Venez célébrer la Semaine nationale des bibliothèques, du 2 au 8 avril, dans
l’une des bibliothèques de l’HGJ. Vous y apprendrez comment vous
retrouver dans le monde sans cesse grandissant de l’information médicale.
Il y aura aussi des tours, des cadeaux-surprise, du café et des viennoiseries
en matinée et des ateliers instructifs pour le personnel de l’HGJ et les
étudiants, dans la salle d’ordinateurs de la Bibliothèque des sciences de la
santé. Les ateliers peuvent accommoder des groupes de 1 à 6 personnes. Les
sujets incluront MEDLINE via Ovid, MEDLINE on PubMed, OVID
Online, l’introduction à la Médecine preuve à l’appui (MPA) et bien plus !
Les places pour ces ateliers sont limitées, inscrivez-vous dès aujourd’hui, en

Library Week: April 2 to 8
Celebrate Library Week 2006 from April 2 to 8, by visiting the
JGH Libraries! You’ll find details on navigating the everexpanding body of medical information.
There will also be tours, freebies, coffee and danish every morning and
instructional workshops for JGH staff and students in the Health Sciences
Library’s Computer Room. Workshops can be arranged for individuals or
groups of up to six people. Topics include MEDLINE via Ovid, MEDLINE
on PubMed, OVID Online, Introduction to Evidence-Based Medicine
(EBM) and more!
Space for the workshops is limited, so register today with Donna Gibbons
at local 2391!
Ateliers en soins palliatifs
Le Conseil sur les soins palliatifs présente Soins palliatifs : Qualité de vie à
la fin de la vie – une série d’ateliers pour prendre soin de personnes atteintes
d’une maladie terminale. Les ateliers auront lieu au Temple Emanu-El-Beth

Palliative Care Workshops
The Council on Palliative Care presents “Palliative Care: Quality of Life at
the End of Life” – a series of workshops about caring for people with
terminal illnesses. Workshops will take place at Temple Emanu-El-Beth

Atrium à la carte
Un chariot offrant sandwiches, pâtisseries, boissons, café et bien plus
encore est maintenant disponible sur les étages 7 et 8 du Pavillon E. Ce
service est offert du lundi au jeudi entre 11h30 et 13h30.
Atrium à la Carte
A coffee cart service is now available in the 7th and 8th floors of Pavilion
E. The cart offers sandwiches, pastries, drinks, coffee, and more between
11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
Service de l’imprimerie
JGH Printing Department
Après plusieurs années de bons et loyaux services, le Service de
l’imprimerie de l’HGJ fermera ses portes. Alors comment allez-vous
répondre à vos besoins en imprimerie ? Un nouveau système d’imprimerie,
rapide et efficace, sera établi. Il permettra au personnel hospitalier de placer
une commande via Lotus Notes.
Si vous assumez actuellement la responsabilité de commander la papeterie
(photocopies, cartes d’affaires, cartes rendez-vous, papier à en-tête, carnets
pour mémos, carnets de prescriptions) vous devez assister à l’une des trois
sessions d’information, qui aura lieu dans la salle A-139.
After many years of valued service, the JGH Printing Department will be
closing its doors in April. So how will the hospital’s printing needs be
met? A new, fast and efficient printing system will enable staff members
to order printed materials via Lotus Notes.
To find out more, all staff members currently responsible for ordering
printed items (photocopies, business cards, appointment cards, letterhead,
block memos, prescriptions pads) must attend one of three information
sessions in the Nurses’ Lecture Hall (Room A-139):
Monday, March 27, noon to 1:30 p.m.
Tuesday, March 28, 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Wednesday, March 29, 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

École Mini-Med HGJ 2006
Inscrivez-vous dès maintenant pour la session 2006 de l’École Mini-Med

2 mai au 6 juin (session en anglais).

microbiologie), le Dr Walter Gotlieb (gynécologie-oncologie), la Dre
Nancy Morin (chirurgie colorectale), le Dr Martin Black (chirurgie), le Dr
Samer Abi Nader (médecine dentaire), le Dr Jean-François Morin
(chirurgie cardiaque) et le Dr Jacques Corcos (urologie). La session sera
animé par Geraldine Matthews, infirmière chef en Médecine interne.

Seder de la Pâques juive
L’HGJ tiendra le Seder de la Pâques juive dans la Cafétéria, pour les
patients et leur famille, le 12 avril à 19h20. Le Seder est gratuit pour les
patients et un (1) invité. Il en coûtera 12 $ pour chaque invité, ou visiteur,

The JGH will hold a Passover Seder for patients and their families on April
12 at 7:20 p.m. in the Cafeteria. The Seder is free for patients and one guest
per patient, and costs $12 for each additional guest and for visitors.

Offices de la prière de l’après-midi
Les offices de la prière juive de l’après-midi (minha) se déroulent chaque
après-midi à l'HGJ. Cependant il est de plus en plus difficile d'obtenir le
quorum nécessaire de 10 hommes, afin que les offices puissent prendre
place. Si vous avez quelques minutes de libres, votre participation aux
offices de minha serait grandement appréciée.

Weight Watchers
En raison d’une baisse des inscriptions, le programme de Weight Watchers

Afternoon services
Jewish minha (afternoon) services continue to be held regularly in the JGH.
However, there has been increasing difficulty in consistently gathering a
quorum of 10 men whose presence is needed before the service can take
place. If you can spare a few minutes a day to help keep the minha service
going, your participation would be greatly appreciated.
When: Every week, Monday through Thursday, 1:45 to 2:00 p.m.

Weight Watchers
Due to a decrease in enrolment, Weight Watchers is no longer available at
the JGH. In order to bring this program back for JGH staff, 20 participants
