Objectifs:
A first introduction to marine biology with a clear emphasis on coral reefs
Contenu:
Presentations by staff and students on selected topics concerning coral reefs, biodiversity and management/conservation. Students will work on
small projects (in teams of 2-3).
Forme de l'évaluation:
An individual oral presentation (50%) and a group webpage poster on their project (50%). Furthermore, all students have to complete a species
name list for 100pictures (continuous assessment). The oral presentation will take place on site. In case of an insufficient assessment (mark
below 4.0) the student will have to prepare a new presentation back in Neuchâtel, the date being fixed in agreement between student and
professor. The poster has to be completed until 20.8. of each year in order to be evaluated for the August-September exam session. Failure to
do so will lead to failure of the first attempt. The deadline for poster submission in order to pass the second attempt will be 15.1. of the following
year.
Documentation:
Relevant papers and ppt slides will be made accessible.
Pré-requis:
Students have to be inscribed in the Master of Biology at Neuchâtel.
