Fender Kit - Rack Attack
Fender Kit Congratulations on purchasing the Fender Kit – For those who like to venture out in the rain and through puddles, this new Fender Kit will help to keep your Chariot dry and clean. Initial Assembly time: About 5 -10 minutes. Tools Required: A Philips or a Robertson screw driver. Note: Any reference to orientation (left or right) is from the passenger’s point of view while in the carrier. A. Installing the Aluminum Fender Bars 1. There is an opening at the rear of the carrier’s wheel arm attachment brackets to accommodate the aluminum fender bars. In order to insert the bars, use either a Philips or a Robertson screwdriver to remove the rear outermost screw from the bracket. See Figure 1. 2. Insert the fender bar into the opening. The long slotted section of the bar must face upwards in order to fully insert the tube. See Figure 2. 3. Re-Insert the screw from the bottom of the wheel arm attachment bracket up through the small hole in the fender bar. Tighten this screw until the wheel arm attachment bracket closes tightly. See Figure 3. Do not over tighten as you could break the plastic. Figure 1 Figure 2 Figure 3 B. Adjusting the Angle of the Fenders 1. Loosen the angle adjustment mechanism by turning the knob counterclockwise. See Figure 4. 2. While holding the fender bracket parallel to the ground, rotate the fender as far as possible towards the ground. See Figure 5. 3. Securely tighten the knob so that the fender will remain in the adjusted position. See Figure 6. Figure 4 10-20-06 Figure 5 www.chariotcarriers.com Figure 6 51100922 C. Installing the Fenders 1. Open the tension lever located on top of the fender bracket. See Figure 7. 2. While maintaining the strap tension button depressed, slide the fender onto the aluminum fender bar. Slide the fender all the way onto the fender bar, otherwise the fender will rub on the carrier’s wheel. See Figure 8. 3. Push the adjustment strap into the bracket so that it is as tight as possible. See Figure 9. Figure 7 Figure 8 Figure 9 Button 4. Adjust the fender so that it is positioned directly above the wheel. See Figure 10. 5. Close tightly the tension lever that was opened in step 1. See Figure 11. Voir Figure 3. Ne serrez pas trop ! Figure 1 Figure 2 Figure 3 B. Réglage de L’angle des Garde-boue 1. Voir Figure 6. Figure 4 Figure 5 Figure 6 C. Installation des Garde-boue 1. Voir figure 9. Figure 7 Figure 8 Figure 9 Bouton 4. Voir figure 11. Figure 10 Figure 11
