As the telephone environment has changed
greatly between 1996 and 2008, the sampling
method has changed a lot in order to improve
the representativeness of the survey. In 1996, a
random sampling from the France Télécom
telephone directory made it possible to survey
people with a landline telephone registered on the
white and orange list. In 2002, people on the red
list were surveyed. In 2008, people living under
households with solely a mobile telephone (17%)
and those fully unbundled (3%) were also
surveyed.
Individuals were selected using the ""Kish""
method in 2008. The base was weighted by the
number of eligible people in each household and
correction according to Insee listings.
