Bulletin hebdomadaire - Paroisse Jésus-Lumière-du

Chers paroissiens,
J’espère que votre Noël était rempli de moments saints et bénis. Je n’étais
malheureusement pas ici pour vous souhaiter une bonne année et une période
de fêtes bénie, car j’étais parti en compagnie de ma maman du 27 décembre au
10 janvier. J’espère que vous avez passé des moments heureux en famille.
Mon voyage à Rome était tout simple. Maman et moi avons passé deux
semaines avec ma sœur Kathy. Comme maman ne peut pas marcher
longtemps, nous avons surtout prié, joué aux cartes et passé du temps avec les
sœurs de la communauté dont Kathy fait partie, à bavarder et à mieux nous
connaître. Quels beaux moments! Comme je l’ai mentionné dans mon homélie
de dimanche dernier, maman a eu le privilège de serrer la main du pape
François. Elle a assisté à l’audience hebdomadaire du pape dans un fauteuil
roulant, au premier rang de la place du Vatican. Le pape s’est dirigé directement
vers elle et l’a saluée. Maman était aux anges!
Cette semaine, nous prions pour l’unité de tous les chrétiens. Je vous appelle
tous à participer d’une manière ou d’une autre à toute célébration dont vous
connaissez l’existence, qui nous encourage à prier pour ce grand rêve et ce
grand espoir de l’Église qu’est son Unité. Je vous invite aussi à prier chez vous à
cette intention. Comme le raconte l’évangile, l’Esprit de Dieu était sur Jésus. Il
est venu pour que la race humaine puisse recouvrer sa dignité d’enfants de Dieu
et vivre dans l’harmonie. Cette harmonie est au cœur de la Trinité. Notre unité
jaillit de l’Unité qui existe en Dieu Lui-même. Dieu est une communion (en grec
« Koinonia ») d’amour mutuel. Dieu est une histoire d’amour entre le Père, le Fils
et l’Esprit-Saint. Les chrétiens sont les témoins de cette vie intérieure et de ce
dynamisme divin. Dieu est source de bonté intérieure et d’amour mutuel.
Prions pour que notre unité soit plus visiblement évidente dans le Corps du
Christ. C’est le témoignage dont ce monde fragmenté a besoin. Je vous souhaite
une semaine de paix dans le Christ Jésus.

paroisse, à contacter les députés politiques pour exprimer notre désaccord avec

Samedi prochain le 25 janvier, je vous propose les activités suivantes:
Matin : Hockey de Rue pour jeunes (12-19 ans), 10h00 à midi dans le
stationnement de MRP.
Soir: Nous aurons une nuit de combo, pas de bouffe mais « un atelier
musical et une causerie de photo contemplative » avec Aldo Gaiqui (joueur
de guitare) et Jean Marie Sautrelle (photographe de hobby et intervenant
jeunesse/catéchète). Apportez votre instrument de musique si vous en
avez un… On vous attend 19h – 21h au presbytère de MRP. À ne pas
manquer!
Outre cela, un groupe de nos jeunes adultes participent à la conférence COR
sur Théologie du Corps avec Christopher West et au banquet par la suite.
Gardez-les ainsi que l’évènement dans vos prières!
Enfin, je tiens à remercier d’un cœur chaleureux tous les jeunes bénévoles
qui ont servis durant la fête de l’Épiphanie, et plus particulièrement je remercie
Harry & Norrah Grégoire qui ont enseigné la belle danse présentée par les ados
durant la fête… C’était simplement beau… Bien fait!

The Bible Study resumes on Saturday from 10h to noon at MRP. We will be
studying the Psalms
Dear parishioners,
I hope you had a blessed and Holy Christmas season. I had been away with
mom from December 27 to January 10, so I was not able to be here to wish you
all a Happy New Year, and a blessed holiday season. I pray you had some
lovely time with your families.
My trip to Rome was very simple. Mom and I spent the two weeks together with
my sister Kathy. Because mom can’t walk too much, we mostly prayed, played
cards, and spent time with the sisters of Kathy’s community talking and getting
better acquainted. Was a great time! As I mentioned in my sermon last Sunday,
mom had the privilege of shaking Pope Francis’ hand. She was in a wheel chair
in the front row of the Vatican square during his weekly audience. The pope then
walked right up to her, and greeted her. Mom was absolutely ecstatic!
This is the week of prayer for Christian unity. I encourage you all to participate in
some way in any celebrations you may be aware of, which encourages us to pray
for this great hope and dreams of the Church’s: Unity. I encourage you to pray in
your homes for this intention. As the gospel relates, the Spirit of the Lord was
upon Jesus. He came so that the human race might recover their dignity as
children of God, and live in harmony. This harmony is the heart of the Trinity. Our
unity springs from the Unity within the Lord Himself. God is a communion (in
Greek ‘Koinonia’) of mutual love. God is a mutual love affair between Father, Son
and Holy Spirit. Christians are witnesses to this inner life and dynamism of God.
God is a well spring of inner kindness and mutual love.
Let’s pray that our unity will be more visibly evident in the Body of Christ. This is
the witnessing our fragmented world needs. Peaceful week to you all in the
Lord Jesus.

THE LAW 52, PERMITTING ASSISTED SUICIDE will be voted on fairly soon. Would any
volunteer in the parish be interested and motivated to help build a parish
response to this unacceptable piece of legislation? Please contact the office.

This coming Saturday January 25th, I propose to you the following activities:
Morning: Street Hockey for youth (12 -19 years old), 10 am – 12 pm at
MQP parking lot.
Evening: We will have a combo night, not of food but a “musical workshop
and a chat on contemplative photos” with Aldo Gaiqui (guitar player) and

minister/catechist). Bring along your musical instrument if you play one…
Join us 7:00 - 9:00 pm at MQP rectory. Not to be missed!
Other than that, a group of our young adults will be participating in the
Theology of the Body COR conference by Christopher West and the banquet as
well. Keep them and the event in your prayers!
Finally, I extend a warm thank you to all our volunteer young people who
served at the Epiphany party and more particularly, I thank Harry & Norrah
Grégoire who taught the beautiful dance presented by our teenagers during the
party… It was simply beautiful… Well done!
