NATO SUPPORT AND PROCUREMENT AGENCY Axel Schulze Director of Finance, NATO Support and Procurement Agency Curriculum vitae M r Axel Schulze was born in Koblenz, Germany in 1952. He completed his first State Exam in Law in 1980 and his second State Exam in 1983. These two exams combined effectively awarded him his law degree. He began his professional career in 1983 as an independent lawyer in his law firm located in Koblenz, Germany. In 1985 he became the Contract and Budget Specialist for ASRAAM, AMRAAM, and Sidewinder in the BWB located in Koblenz. In 1988 Mr. Schulze was presented the opportunity to go abroad to Eglin AFB, Florida as an Attorney Advisor under the U.S. and German exchange program in Law Centre. In 1990 he returned to Munich, Germany working as a Specialist Tornado Contracts with NAMMA. He was later promoted in NAMMA/NETMA to Section Leader Tornado Contracts. Mr Schulze was presented yet another opportunity to return to the United States in 1996. While he was stationed in Huntsville, Alabama he performed the duties of both the Division Leader of Contracts and Finance and the Financial Controller for NAMEADSMA. In 2000 he returned to Germany to perform the duties as the Deputy Section Leader in MOD, Germany for NATO budgets and for the international deployment of the German Armed Forces. During his time there he was also the German speaker in the NAMSO F&A and NAPMO LCF. In addition, he was also the Chairman of the NAMMO/NEFMO FAC. In 2004 Mr Schulze became the Team Leader of Contracts for: simulators, computer supported learning programs,security systems, and the German Combat Training Centre (GÜZ). In 2006 he continued his career in Brunssum, The Netherlands as the NAPMA Chief, Financial Planning and Budgeting. In 2007 Mr. Schulze was offered a position as Financial Controller for the NATO Airborne Early Warning & Control Force (NAEW&CF) E-3A Component located in Geilenkirchen, Germany. His responsibilities included serving as the principal financial advisor for the E-3A Component Commander and the NATO AEW Force Commander. He provided guidance and oversaw the accounting operations of the NATO Automated Financial System (NAFS) in addition to analyzing the financial impact of budgetary decisions and their implications. As Division Chief he also was accountable for the financial planning, control of budgetary execution, disbursing, accounting, and internal auditing activities.
