With the support of:
Sport and Citizenship, the only European think tank promoting a sport serving society, aims at launching a
European civic dialogue in the field of sport thanks to multidisciplinarity and transverse reflections. To do so,
it puts sport stakeholders in relation with others, as a wide network gathering governments, sport movement,
as well as civil society, academics and the private sector. Its objective is to convince European public and
private decision makers of the value of sport based on its social, educational and civic dimensions and to
promote a better implementation of sport and physical activity in the society.

Without concealing the excesses of football or considering it as the only key to
deep social issues, it appears that football can be used as a tool serving rightful causes.
While France and the EU made social integration through sport one of their
priorities, Sport and Citizenship will organise in partnership with the UEFA and under
the aegis of MEP Emine Bozkurt, a panel discussion on:
« Football and social integration in Europe: which opportunities for Roma
populations? »
This roundtable will be organised as a forum for meetings and exchanges
between the different European stakeholders of Roma inclusion through sport. The
objective will be to identify, through shared experiences, good practices from different
European countries, in terms of governance, funding, projects,... in order to propose
some avenues for development in this area to the European institutions. It is thus
important to open up the reflection by inviting active NGOs on defense and protection of
the Roma.
