« Une femme seule dans une chambre écrit et réécrit une même lettre. Par sa fenêtre, des panoramas
à la lumière changeante se font l’écho de chacune de ses émotions. La bande-son du ilm est une
pièce surréelle du géant de la musique expérimentale Karlheinz Stockhausen. In absentia combine
images ilmées et animation pour dessiner le paysage mental d’une femme folle, perdue, écrivant
à l’aide de minuscules fragments de mine de crayon dans une cellule sinistre. » “A woman alone
in a room repeatedly writes a letter. Outside her window, vistas of ever-changing light register her every
emotion. The film features an otherworldly composition by experimental music giant Karlheinz
Stockhausen, and combines live action and animation to convey the mindscape of a lost, mad woman
