Lover`s weekend at the Potager des Princes
Lover’s weekend at the Potager des Princes In April, come and celebrate “Easter in the Garden”. © Potager des Princes I n Chantilly, a princely town located a few kilometres to the north of Paris, lies a kitchen garden capable of making everyone smile. The arrival of spring is synonymous with the renewal of vegetation. During the entire month of April, come and celebrate “Easter in the Garden” at the Potager des Princes. An eye for decor is apparent in these gardens: beautiful and big are the key words. An example is the flower bed of 80,000 daffodils, forming a veritable fountain of yellow. The latter entices visitors to discover the waterfall garden and the exotic garden, passing through lattice fences, (very fashionable in XVIII century Chantilly). Gardens created by Le Nôtre Here, life has been restored to 3 hectares of gardens created by Le Nôtre, to take visitors back in time. The waterfall garden is surrounded by a double flower bed where 1,500 rose bushes bloom. A little further away, the aquatic garden is home to water lilies and irises. Finally the tea-room housed in a gloriette gives the perfect excuse to enjoy refreshments in the shade of vine leaves and to sample a garden mint tea or a freshly squeezed fruit juice, (with fruits and vegetables from the kitchen garden), while overlooking the blooming garden. Perhaps you will have the opportunity to meet Yves BIENAIME, a great man to whom we owe the safeguard of the Potager des Princes, or Serge SAJE, head gardener who ensures the beauty of this enchanting spot. Two men who will share their love of the garden with you and who will give you tips on ways to enhance your own garden! Opening times and prices From 1 April to 30 April from 2 pm.
