The Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne, the University Hospital Centre Vaudois (CHUV) and the Jules-Gonin Eye Hospital (HOJG) invite for a position application of: Maître d’enseignement et de recherche type 1 (Senior Lecturer) At the Jules-Gonin Eye Hospital Description of the tasks: The MER1 will be in charge of developing a unit of gene transfer in large animals. He/she will participate in projects of development of administration systems of vectors / compounds in the retina. He/she will develop preclinical studies for gene therapy approaches for rare dystrophies of the retina. He/she will develop objective tests for visual function assessments in animal models. The following expertise is necessary: PhD in biology Experience in the establishment of a gene therapy platform (viral vector design and production, safety issues for clinical applications) Excellent knowledge of the functional exploration of animal models of retinal dystrophies Required work experience in large animal models Required experience in in vivo gene therapy preclinical studies to protect photoreceptors in models of retinal dystrophies Established competence to communicate in journals and conferences Animal experimentation authorization (Module 1 or equivalent) Submission of the application: The applications, in English, will include the motivation letter, the curriculum vitae, the list of publications with a copy of the five most relevant ones, the list of external funding obtained, a brief description of the research program and of teaching experience, the list of surgical operations, and a copy of diplomas.
