Gala d’ouverture de la saison 2015/2016

Conçu comme une soirée exceptionnelle par Stéphane Lissner, Directeur de l’Opéra national de Paris, le
Gala d’ouverture marquera le lancement de la saison chorégraphique 2015/2016 et rassemblera les
artistes de l’Opéra national de Paris : le Ballet, l’Ecole de Danse et l'Orchestre, placés sous la direction
de Benjamin Millepied, directeur de la Danse et Philippe Jordan, directeur musical.
Sur la scène du Palais Garnier, ils interpréteront Clear, Loud, Bright, Forward, une création de Benjamin
Millepied sur une musique de Nico Muhly, et des costumes d’Iris van Herpen, Thème et Variations, hommage
de George Balanchine à Marius Petipa, et une nouvelle version du Défilé du Ballet de l’Opéra sur « l'Entrée
des invités », extrait de Tannhäuser de Richard Wagner.
Cet évènement, sans aucun précèdent comparable à l’Opéra national de Paris, permettra de recueillir des fonds
au bénéfice des activités du Ballet grâce au soutien de Christian Dior Parfums et de la maison de haute
joaillerie de GRISOGONO, partenaires du Gala d’ouverture, à l’engagement de 5 co-présidentes, Olivia Flatto,
Karine Journo, Pamela Joyner, Ulla Parker, Sutton Stracke, et du Comité d’honneur rassemblant les plus
grands donateurs de la soirée.
Les Etoiles du Ballet de l’Opéra national de Paris seront habillés par la maison DIOR et scintilleront en bijoux
de GRISOGONO.
A l’issue du spectacle, sera servi un souper à huit mains orchestré par Le Fooding, associant quatre
ambassadeurs du renouveau gastronomique français : Iñaki Aizpitarte, chef du Chateaubriand, Pascal Barbot,
chef de L’Astrance, Adeline Grattard, cheffe de Yamt’cha, et Bertrand Grébaut, chef de Septime. Le château
Cheval Blanc et la maison Ruinart accompagneront ce menu d’exception dans les Foyers du Palais Garnier.
Ce gala, scénographié par le duo complice André Saraiva et Alexandre de Betak, se clôturera par une afterparty dans la Rotonde des Abonnés.

Opening Gala of the 2015/2016 season

Created as a truly exceptional evening by Stéphane Lissner, Director of the Paris Opera, the Opening Gala will
mark the inauguration of the 2015/2016 Ballet Season, bringing together all the artists of the Paris Opera: the
Ballet, the Ballet School, and the Orchestra under the leadership of Director of Dance Benjamin Millepied and
Musical Director Philippe Jordan.
On the stage of the Palais Garnier, the artists will perform Benjamin Millepied’s latest choreography: Clear,
Loud, Bright, Forward, on a music by Nico Muhly and with costumes designed by Iris van Herpen. The program
will follow with Thème et Variations, a tribute by George Balanchine to Marius Petipa, and with a new version
of the Défilé du Ballet de l’Opéra on “Entry of the Guests”, an excerpt of Tannhäuser by Richard Wagner.
This event, without precedent at the Paris Opera, will enable us to collect funds in aid of the Ballet thanks to
support of Christian Dior Parfums and the maison de haute joaillerie de GRISOGONO, partners of the Opening
Gala, the commitment of 5 co-chairs Olivia Flatto, Karine Journo, Pamela Joyner, Ulla Parker, Sutton Stracke
and from the honorary committee, gathering the most generous donors of the evening.
The Etoiles of the Paris Opera Ballet will be dressed by the maison DIOR and sparkle in de GRISOGONO
jewellery.
After the performance an eight-handed supper orchestrated by Le Fooding will be served, bringing together four
ambassadors of the revival of French gastronomy: Iñaki Aizpitarte, chef of Le Chateaubriand, Pascal Barbot,
chef of L’Astrance, Adeline Grattard, chef of Yamt’cha, and Bertrand Grébaut, chef of Septime. Château Cheval
Blanc and Ruinart will accompany this exceptional menu held in the Foyers of the Palais Garnier.
The gala evening, staged by André Saraiva and Alexandre de Betak, will continue with an after-party in the
Rotonde des Abonnés.
