Sailing Sec. Nicky Henderson The Flag Officers and Members of the Royal Solent Yacht Club extend a warm welcome to competitors as visitors to the Club. They are requested to sign and enter their name and address in the Visitors’ Book situated in the upstairs hall and should acquaint themselves with the rules of the Royal Solent Yacht Club particularly those concerning dress. Registered Office, Yarmouth, Isle of Wight, PO41 0NS 01983 760256 Registered in England No 05272681 Notice of Race Sunday 13th May HW Portsmouth 04:33 15:21 1. 4.3 4.3 ORGANISING AUTHORITY 1.1 The organising authority is the Royal Solent Yacht Club 2. 2.1 RULES Racing will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), and the Regatta Sailing instructions. In cases where there is conflict between the Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions the Sailing Instructions shall prevail. Racing Rules will be changed as follows: Rule 35 Time Limits. 2.2 3. 3.1 3.2 ENTRIES & CLASSES. The Regatta is open to all Sweden Yachts. In exceptional circumstances the organising authority may give consent to a boat to register late. 4. 4.1 FEES Entry fee for the Regatta 5 5.1 SCHEDULE Two races, first race not before 10:00am. Race 2 shall follow as soon as practical after the finish of Race 1. 6. COURSES Racing will be in the Western Solent. 9. 9.1 9.2 10 10.1 HANDICAPPING & SCORING. Handicaps will be determined by the RSYC Racing Sub Committee or its nominee and will be available to competitors prior to racing. The Low Point score point system will be used in accordance with RRS Appendix A. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY Competitors participate in the Regatta entirely at their own risk. See RRS Rule 4. Decision to race. The organising authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during or after the Regatta. A boat is entirely responsible for her own safety, whether afloat or ashore, and nothing, whether in the Notice of Race, Sailing Instructions or anywhere else reduces this responsibility. Notes for Skippers. Dress Code. The Committee does not wish to impose rigid dress rules, but at the same time considers that Visitors to the Club should observe a reasonable standard of dress appropriate to the occasion. After 19:30 ladies and gentlemen should observe a degree of formality of dress in the Bar, Dining Room and Members’ Room. Shorts may not be worn in the Dining Room or Members’ Room after 19:30.
